Hey ladies, the man and I are going to Paris next month. I've been a couple times so I know what to see, but the times I went I was dirt poor and only ate plain baguettes with my 4 euro bottles of wine (not that there's anything wrong with that).
Since now I have someone to pay for my food (haha just kidding), could you guys recommend some nice places to eat for 10-20 euro per person. Any cuisine but Indian. We will be staying in Montmartre, but obviously can go anywhere for food.
And if you did some cool, little known thing that was awesome while in Paris, please share.
Thanks!
Also, ya know, so no one thinks less of me, this is the SAME GUY as my story from yesterday. Ha!
Re: Paris eating recs please
foodwh0re. is that in bad taste? too soon?
when are you going to be there? i'll be there over halloween for my son's first birthday. super excited. i've only been looking at dessert locations, though, so I don't think I'd be much help.
to piggy back on this - if you have any baby friendly recs, please share.
FTW.
Sorry, no recs from this IN. Looking forward to see what others say for my future trips there though.
Sorry to hijack this thread, but if you're looking for baby friendly recs, visit the web site deliciousbaby. I found her tips so helpful when I traveled with DD at 15 months and am going to look at the site again before we move to Paris this January.
To OP- sorry, I don't have specific reco's. I've picked dinner places at the spur of the moment in Paris and have never had a bad meal in that city.
For a cheap lunch I'd go to the top of Galleries Lafayettes. You can get a salad, drink and dessert for under 10 euros.
There are a ton of cool little cafes in Montmartre where you could get a fab meal for 10-20 euros. Get off at Abbess Metro and the place is lousy with pretty little cafes.
Here are some recs from DH when he was living there, I think they should all be reasonably priced
1) Simple (light, open-faced sandwiches). 22 Bis Rue Jean Nicot.
2) Positano (incredible pizza). Rue des Canettes.
3) Fontaine de Mars (great and reasonably priced French food) Rue Saint Dominique
4) La Grolle de Montmarte (Fondu, nuff said). Rue des Trois Freres (this place is delish! and should be near where you are staying)
