AW: My friend passed his citizenship test!!
My friend just called to tell me he passed his citizenship test this afternoon! He's been living in the US for years and has a nearly unbelievable life story that really ought to be made into a movie.
In fall 2006 he went home to Zanzibar to get married, and when he left 6 weeks later his wife was pregnant. He hasn't been back since, so he has not met his 15 month old son.
Now once he swears in he can apply for visas for both of them and his family can finally be together. His wife is one of my favorite people in the world, and I just met his son this past weekend. I am so happy that they are going to come live here!!
