I want to see some action on Tuesday, even though it will be lunch before I can jump on here.

Re: Tuesday Randoms

  • No call from our realtor with a huge offer today.

I'm going to fire her.  Obviously, she's just sitting on the news.  I'm totally kidding, and not crazy.

  • I'm posting on here, so GVSU knows it's not her, it's her ArtPrize posts... ;')

That is SO frustrating! I hope you get good news soon!

We have an offer in on our Flint house, I'm praying the bank takes it and I can wash my hands of the whole mess.  It's a cute cape cod - 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, 2 car garage, fenced yard, we completed gutted and redid the bathroom 5 years ago.  It appraised for only $13k last month, THAT's how bad the market is in Flint these days.  I'm so sick of stressing over that stupid house.

  • If it was near WSU in Detroit I'd buy it :P
  • Hello ladies! Big Smile

J and I had our 1st infant massage class yesterday.  And we both loved it!

And tonight I am going to yoga!  I am so excited for some "me" time.

Oh enjoy the "me" time - and keep taking it often! :)

  • Hi!

GVSU looks like she was on a nesting mission last night.

GRSP, sorry to hear that your realtor hasn't called.  Bummer.

Freeburger, I hope everything works out with your Flint house!  Good luck!

Mira, have fun at yoga!  I'm becoming increasinly convinced that yoga can cure the world's ails.

I got the cold that everyone seems to have.  Blah.

Yay!! How fun that you have something you both enjoy. Great bonding time! And enjoy your yoga!

Ugh. I really dislike the waiting game. I have a very active imagination, as I suspect you might have as well, and all the wondering drives me batty.

  • Mira, I'm so glad for both!  Enjoy yoga.

Freeburger, good luck on the offer.  I can't even consider encountering frustrations beyond getting an offer.  I hope this is it (finally) for you guys, and that it goes quickly.

Hoek, yup, the imagination is running wild. In my head, the people are empty nesters who are getting ready to retire.  And this morning, they came to an agreement about this house over their poached eggs.

Empty nesters that haven't retired yet? Hmmm...well I suspect they are calling their children to make sure that no one will be broken-hearted if they move out of the house that the children grew up in. Those calls can take a long time.

Or they are mall walking. But I am not sure they are at that age yet.

  • Here are a bunch of my randoms in one post.

I'm feeling down today.  Combination of the rain and my messy house and I forgot to do something important yesterday and I'm not sure of the consequences, but I don't think it's going to be good.  Blah.  Plus I had trouble falling asleep last night and my tiredness is not helping my mood.

Oh the bright side, Saturday is October 1st, and I'm going to Florida in October...so it feels like its almost here.

We went to Chili's last night to support our niece who is a childhood cancer survivor.  Chili's donated their net profits from yesterday to St Jude Children's Hospital.  My niece is absolutely the most outgoing, sweetest little girl I know.  She's had quite the life thus far (her father died in a house fire in May) but she is so resilient and happy.  I loved spending time with her last night.

I'm looking forward to running tonight.

  • Hoek, they can't be mall walking right now.  They're at their jobs. ;)

D&M , I hope the consequence isn't too bad, and that your day gets better.  It's amazing how kids adapt to challenges that can stop adults in their tracks.

Henry had a crazy-insane temper tantrum 2 days ago.  He's still hoarse.

One of those kids is being difficult and can't imagine mom and dad ever selling the house that has so many memories.  It may take a little extra time because of this, but they'll come around and decide that it's time to move on to this next chapter and GRSP's house is exactly what they're looking for.

  • I'm going to imagine that kid's phone number and give them a "friendly" call. ;)

Hahaha! Yes. There is always one. That kid is so selfish.

  •  The Bangles have a new album out?!  I'm listening to it on Spoitfy right now.  Fun.

  • GRSP: you can call your realtor and ask what the feedback was on the people who came through and stay a long time.   But I do think your story of the empty nesters is probably spot on.

Right now I am enjoying my homemade Pumpkin spiced Latte.  Sbucks be damned.  Big Smile

    How did you make it?

I made some pumpkin spice syrup.  I boiled equal parts sugar and water, then whisked in about 3 TB canned pumpkin,  and spices (nutmeg, cinnamom, allspice, and clove)  let it cool.

I microwaved some almond milk (But cows or whatever would work) and put 3 Tbs of the syrup in and added in some espresso (but I am sure regular coffee would work too).

    Thanks!

I make espresso shots every morning, so I will definitely try this soon!

  • I finished a book last night and was so disappointed in the ending.

Then I was told it was the first book of a series.  That would explain all of the unanswered questions, duh.

  • I brought my lunch today, but all I keep thinking about is warm pita bread and hummus.

Are you going to get the next book in the series now?

I haven't started a new book since I finished The Book Thief several weeks ago.  It's the longest stretch I've gone in quite awhile.

Although, that reminds me, I need to figure out my vacation reads...

  • Aw man... well, we got our feedback.  No offer.  We're priced to high, the house is still too cluttered, and they could smell the skunk (I think our noses have become immune?).

That's too bad :-(  Is there a way to get rid of more of the clutter?  Have you thought about maybe putting some cinnamon and vanilla on a cookie sheet in a warm oven just before a showing to possibly mask some of the skunk smell?

    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • I boiled cloves and cinnamon to mask the smell.  But that's a good suggestion, maybe I'll try that too.

Eventually....maybe...probably not?  It's $9.99.  Book 1 was free (yay free Fridays) and I'm so damn cheap I probably won't ever buy it.
