Rainy day in Traverse City?
B and I will be in Traverse City and will have an afternoon free after I'm done working. We were looking forward to going hiking, but it looks like it's going to be rainy. So disappointed.
So, how would you spend a rainy afternoon in TC? Wine tasting? Any other ideas?

I googled hoping to have my mind jogged, but found a list instead:

Drinking beer. Either at North Peak or at the Blue Tractor.
Enjoy TC. I know you always do, but this post almost makes me miss my work trips. I actually do miss working, but not the job I was doing and definitely not my POS boss.
I like this place for lunch: http://www.thedishcafetc.com/
The people there are so nice, and the food is terrific.
My cousin works at Apache Trout Grill. If you go, say 'hi', her name is Jesi (same last name as me).

Have you been to Firefly? We really enjoyed it.

I also like Firefly.
I had one fantastic experience with Red Mesa Grill in TC and one experience that was just okay (it was after my fantastic experience, so I found it extra disappointing). One of my former CWs said she had also had inconsistent luck with the TC location (better luck with the one in Boyne City).
I also liked Scalawag's, but that is quite casual.
Poppycock's is also quite tasty.
Red Ginger is great sushi, but very pricey--to be expected for exotic fish in northern MI, I suppose.
I also love Amical. Greenhouse Cafe is awesome, but only open for breakfast and lunch I think.
I've been to Mackinac Brewing Co. as well and that was okay for burgers and beer (I would definitely prefer North Peak).

I went to Amical when I was newly pregnant, could hardly eat my food, and what I did manage to get down came back up as soon as I left. Boo morning sickness. Haha.
Yes, I realize this post was completely pointless.
We were in Traverse City yesterday. The weather worked out for us and we were able to explore the dunes for a bit! Seriously, gorgeous. It's no wonder that the area was voted America's Most Beautiful Place.
Before we headed out there, we got a quick lunch at The Dish Cafe. Thanks for the suggestion, GRSP! It was great.
