I could really wish for better consistency from base to base...
The first base I lived at had a travel clinic, but it wouldn't talk to me, because I wasn't travelling for vacation or for missionary work. I had to get all vaccinations done via my assigned clinic.
The next base just got confused when I asked about vaccinations for travel. As far as I know, no travel clinic existed.
The base we are at now has a travel clinic, and they are _grudgingly_ willing to talk to me. Which is good, because I went to my assigned clinic to talk about shots for travel, and they looked at me like I had three heads... Took them an hour, and finally they gave me the information for how to reach the travel clinic...
Yeah, I know I'm travelling for work. But, I'm insured by Tricare, and Tricare will be on the hook to cover the costs of my care back here if I catch some wacky tropical disease on one of these trips... You would think they'd make it easier to figure out what the heck I'm supposed to do to make sure I stay healthy...
(yes, I've referenced the WHO and CDC travel websites... I can't determine from them if I need anti-malarial meds for an upcoming trip, and it looks like I might need a booster for one of my less-than-normal vaccines... my assigned clinic won't talk to me about either...)
