very seldom. once every 3 or 4+ years. i don't have any family near my OOT friends

also very seldom. the ones that have family visit a couple times a year...the ones that don't...once every 3 or 4+ years.

i used to do lots more visits with OOT friends when we were younger...but now that we're older with "real" jobs, and bills, etc... time off is hard to take. i miss my friends though

this is a tricky one...

I mean, I can only think of one time that I traveled specifically to see a friend - we have been close since college (in each others weddings etc) and her H got deployed right after they moved away.  My H (FI at the time) was also in another state, so I decided to take a trip to see her.

Otherwise, I haven't really ever done that.  Well, I guess except when we go see H's parents in AK, but that's different.  

ETA: I grew up around here so if people move away that are my friends, it's their responsibility to visit me

My Maid of Honor lives close-ish to my ILs, so I usually get to her a little bit when we fly out to the East Coast (1 or 2 times every other year).

My other OOT friends, I see them whenever they come back to town and I find out about it via some FB invite.

BLAH...i guess it's my own fault. i've also lived in seattle my whole life....i was an interwebz nerd as a kid and i've met some very good friends across the country. i've also met friends while traveling that i've stayed in touch with.

how often do you visit your friends (not fam) that are OOT? do you have family near your OOT friends?  I go to Alaska 3-4 times a year and get in as much friends and family time as I can. One of my BFF's lives in Denver and we try to see each other at least once a year. I flew down there for her babyshower in April. Other friends I try to see if I'm traveling to their area and they all know I have an open door policy.

how often do your OOT friends visit you? do your OOT friends have family near you? I've had several friends visit me in the 2 yeras I've lived here. None of them have family nearby. They either stay here on their way to Alaska or come down here shopping on the weekends.

how often do you visit your friends (not fam) that are OOT? do you have family near your OOT friends? No, we don't. We have friends in Washington DC and Germany that we hope to visit someday. And no, we don't have family near them.

how often do your OOT friends visit you? do your OOT friends have family near you? Not too often. I believe our Germany friends will be in town in December, so we'll see them then. Yes, both our DC/Germany friends have family in the area.

ETA: I have visited law school friend while visiting DH fam.  I also went to LA once when she was working there. 

do you have family near your OOT friends?  Yes. (DH fam lives where I went to school, I have another friend since kindgergarten that lives on east coast, but several hours from DH fam)

ETA: When I lived on east coast (I grew up here), I visited friends and they visited me fairly often.  But, since I've moved back, it happens rarely (but most of them live here).

A lot of OOT friends have family here, so i see them every year or so (some more often).

I try to spread it out throughout the visits so that we see everyone in the year. This is about every 3 months, so at least 4-5 times a year that we go visit.

Maybe once a year if it works out. No they don't so for them it's a special trip.

how often do you visit your friends (not fam) that are OOT? once a year, but they're in places that I'm already going.  do you have family near your OOT friends? H has an aunt and some cousins's in the Bay Area and I have a friend in the SF.

how often do your OOT friends visit you? When/if they come home to visit their parents (usually Christmas) do your OOT friends have family near you? Yep, most everyone's parents live here still.
