my updates

I'm a little late to the party on this one, but I'll add my update anyway.

I lurk occasionally, but rarely post because I can't post from my phone and I rarely sit down at the computer and Nest anymore.

R is doing great!  I'm off today because he has a re-check on his ears.  He had pink eye and an ear infection 2 weeks ago.  Putting eye drops in a 3 year old's eyes is like dropping acid in there.  Pure torture for all involved!  He never complains about ear aches and he doesn't hold or rub his ears, so I don't ever know that he has one, and the doctor always questions me about it.
He's a great big brother and baby K just LOVES him! He's totally obsessed with Transformers, loves playing with his friend at the sitter's, and is all around a very happy boy!

K is fantastic!  I can't believe she's almost 6 months.  It makes me very sad because I don't know if we'll have more or not.  SHe seems to have grown so much faster than R.  She's a phenomenal sleeper and most nights sleeps from 8:30-6, and on the nights when she does wake up, it's only once.  This is such a huge change from R.  Her current talents include rolling all over until she gets stuck up against something and can't roll anymore, checking out her hands, grasping at anything within reach, eating her feet, sucking her fingers and her big toe (not at the same time), and squealing.  She's getting close to sitting on her own, and I'm waiting for big belly giggles to come out.

She's not a fan of food, but we're working on it.  I started sweet potatoes this past week because cereal just wasn't working.  She kept gagging on it.
I'm still breastfeeding, which is going great!  I pump twice while at work and usually get enough for the 3 bottles that she takes while I'm at work.  My goal was 6 months since that's how long I went with R, but now I'm hoping to make it until my Christmas break when she'll be 9-ish months.  She's used to formula and gets a few bottles each week if I don't have enough milk to send.

DH is doing well.  He was in the hospital in early August for diverticulitis.  That seems to have settled down, but he still hasn't gone to the doctor to follow up with it.  He had to cancel his appointment.  His migraines have settled down since he started on the botox injections and the right combination of medication.  He will still get them occasionally, but not nearly to the extent that he had gotten them before.  His job is CRAZY right now.  He worked 60+ hours/week for the month of August.  THe pay checks were great, but it was hard on him and us with him being gone so much.

I went back to work when school started in AUgust.  It's been a good adjustment!  My class this year is pretty good, despite a few recess problems.  I have a new teaching partner, which is great because we split some of our duties and we aren't both doing the same things (like copying, writing newsletters, preparing projects, and such).  I'm trying to get my butt in gear to keep running, but I just don't have time.  The demands of 2 kids is crazy, especially when DH doesn't always help out or is working a lot.  I need to make it more of a priority because it really does make me a better mom when I get that "outlet" of energy.

That's about it.
