Anyone keeping up an exercise routine? I've worked out this entire pregnancy and am still getting in at least 4 days/week. Just trying to keep activity up b/c it's good for both me and the baby.
Anyone going to the gym, Zumba class, running, whatever that they want to share?
Re: Who's working out?
i haven't been to the gym since april
i've had several injuries (totally my fault), but with the summer being so flipping hot i didn't feel the urge to go. now that it's fall and i'm "healthy" again, i'm going to start back at the gym on monday.
I aim to work out every weekday. I usually do 30 minutes on our elliptical and on MWF I do some strength training. Our elliptical broke a few weeks ago (and the replacement part broke so we are waiting on another new piece) so I have been running 2-3 miles instead of that. We also just bought a Wii Fit to help while the elliptical is down so I do some of those exercises (although I question the value of some of the exercises).
I hate exercise though, I do it because I have to in order to maintain a healthy weight. I would much rather come home everyday and lay on the couch!
I got bored with the elliptical... I always like to cycle in the warmer months, so this past spring, I busted out the bike ton and now I ride a lot. I've been doing about 12-15 mile rides a few times a week. I found a good app for my phone and I've been tracking everything with it, which is pretty sweet. It maps my routes, tracks my speed and calories burned... I love it. Now, I just make goals to either beat the length of my rides, calories burned or average speed. I'm competitive with myself... lol.
Good for you for keeping up your workouts so well through your pregnancy! Whenever it's that time for me, I plan to do the same!
When I was pregnant, I quit exercising around February sometime. It was just getting too uncomfortable for me (and I felt like I was splitting right now the middle). I've been doing my best to get back into it, but haven't bounced back as well as I would have liked. Nor do I have the time with the baby.
Exercising has been great for my pregnancy. I've had no problems whatsoever, no morning sickness, maintained a healthy weight gain, and I hope that it will help with labor by keeping my endurance up. I do miss hard workouts though!
I worked out at 5 a.m. every single day that I was pregnant, then when I hit 31 weeks something happened and I could no longer walk and had to give it up. I was pretty sad over it, but what can you do, I couldn't walk and was in a ton of pain.
Davis and I walk or jog over 2 miles every day, it is easier for me to do that and push him in the jogger than haul him to a gym and Lifestyles kids club is pure nastiness.
We did just get our free 3 month max membership to the YMCA so we will start going there now, the kids zone is very nice at the one in Lambertville.
