ok we are getting close to DC... specific recommendations?
we are leaving next week, so i am totally ready for specific recommendations (esp for restaurants that are more casual). i'm so excited : )
my cousin is going with me, she's been but it was like 10 years ago. my friend is visiting her parents in virginia, so she's going to come hang out a little too.
we will be staying at the Rough Hotel downtown, which I believe is near union station.

Georgetown cupcakes-pre order online so you don't have to wait in line.
Restaurants: Bistro Bis (french), Manu (Korean), Estadio (tapas), Sequoia (georgetown waterfront area), Bodeago (tapas in georgetown), Brassiere Beck (french/belgian in midtown), Sei (asian food in downtown).
Just FYI - it has gotten really bad reviews.
Jaleo - best tapas place in the country (near Verizon Center), Raiska - Indian (Wash Post gives it four stars even though it's not super fancy and expensive); Zaytaniya - Mediterranean small plates, same owner as Jaleo (although it can be really loud in there).
www.washingtonpost.com has a lot of good reviews. DC has SO many great restaurants.
Not a restaurant rec, but a museum rec. It's not on the mall, so people don't usually know about it, but the International Spy Museum is really fun. Lots of interactive displays & cool stories.
