Knitters: assistance, please?
So I think I've really gotten the hang of knitting (I have about 3 inches left to finish my first baby blanket!!) so I picked up some of this yarn: http://www.bernat.com/product.php?LGC=babyblanket300g for another baby blanket. I, of course, couldn't wait to try it out so I casted on about 80 sts and started just knitting a few rows.
For some reason, it's working up really tight. I haven't had this problem with the last yarn I got, but it seems to "stick" to itself and not want to slide on/off the needles easily. Is it me, or the yarn? It's really super soft, and I got size 13 needles because it's super bulky, but I'm just not sure what is going wrong here.

Yes, I am. Should I maybe try wooden instead?
The yarn has a free pattern that I like, and it requires circular needles instead, so maybe I'll try wooden this time.

I've never knit with this yarn, but it looks like it might be a bit "grabby"... You are using a needle two sizes up from the recommended one, so unless you are a super tight knitter, you shouldn't be too tight with it.
That's what I didn't get. I chose 2 sizes up thinking that it would make it looser - I like the "floppiness" of looser blankets, esp with super soft yarns (it's kind of like a microplush) like this. My other projects I haven't had a problem being too tight with, so I'm thinking it is the yarn/needle type combo.
I did find a pattern for it that works from the corners instead of across and it is a little different so I'm going to try that and maybe see if it helps any.
Thanks for all the help girls!!
