Easy and cheap ideas for centerpieces (Home bbq party)
I'm hosting a party for my husband this Saturday. So far 115 people have confirmed (wow). I have been swamped with school and work this week and need some last minute ideas for table centerpieces. Here's a quick idea of the party:
Oak pit BBQ catering (tri tip beef, sausage, ribs, western beans, salad, etc)...will
be grilled onsite in cool bbq contraption
Full bar with bartender
Autumn feel to invites (and our weather here in CO)
I rented round tables for the guests
Will be hosted in backyard, patio, and first floor of home (all very open and flows
well)
Thanks for any ideas...I've put so much work into this and would hate for centerpieces to be my failure.

small pumpkins, fall leaves, and twigs?

apples in baskets?
orange, yellow, red, white pillar candles?
white pillar candles in fall vases or in hurricanes with a fall garland wrapped around?
mums?
I like this idea, and add a mini pumpkin to each side.
When i'm looking for a really cheap centerpiece I look for something that doubles up its purpose meaning it serves as a centerpiece but also is something edible or serves as lighting.
One of my favorite things is to use food or bottled drinks/wine as a the centerpiece.
To make the cupcakes more masculine just use a different icing tip.
You can get mismatched containers at a thrift store and put fall fruits like pears and apples with whole walnuts and a nutcracker at each table:

I am all for centerpieces with dual purpose - how about candied apples? I'm sure you can get wooden buckets from the dollar store and fill them with candied apples wrapped up, tied with a bow and serve as a a favor.
Or a pillar candle in a hurricane vase w/ crystal beads in the bottom all autumn colors.
Or simple sunflowers in a vase.
Just wanted to say thank you to all those who gave suggestions. Our party was last night and it was a big hit. I planted mums in pumpkins and put some greenery and tea lights around it. for decorations elsewhere I hollowed out small pumpkins and put tea lights in them. I also used a few tin drink buckets and placed pumpkin beer, root beer, and cream soda in them. It all turned out great. Thank you!
