POLL: Classic/Popular movies you haven't seen
I was talking to a friend the other day and she's never seen Grease or Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

But it got me thinking about what I haven't seen...
Name 3 movies on your need to watch list.
Mine are:
Gone with the Wind
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Saving Private Ryan
Here is a list to get you thinking....and a top 250 list.
Re: POLL: Classic/Popular movies you haven't seen
I have never seen Grease.
ET
Gone With the Wind
Star Wars
Dh keeps saying he is going to make me sit down and watch all the Star Wars movies but I keep avoiding it.
and Ferris is one of my favorite movies!
The Notebook
any Lord of the Ring movies
any Harry Potter movies
And I really don't care to see any of them ever.
Say whaaat??? LOL
I have a lot but the first that comes to mind is any Lord of the Rings.
Baking Blog
I've never seen:
Casablanca, Seven, Memento, Clockwork Orange
the only ones I'd be interested in actually watching are Casablanca and Memento
random story...
up until a few weeks ago, i had never seen top gun either.
so a few weeks ago, i noticed that top gun was on tv (i was so excited b/c i'd heard great things about it and i had never seen it). honestly, i think i watched 30 minutes of the movie. it just didn't hold my attention.
i'm willing to give it another try...
Star Wars
Lord of the Rings
Harry Potter
ET
Casablanca
Forest Gump (and yes, I live in Alabama)
Foot Loose
Godfather movies
Silence of the Lambs
It's a Wonderful Life
Terminator movies
The Shining
Braveheart
Gone with the Wind
Indiana Jones movies
Jaws
Rocky movies
...pretty much every movie on that top 250 list
But I guess I don't really care to see those..
TI, IUIs, IVF = c/ps and BFNs
Pulp Fiction
Dazed & Confused
all Godfather movies
all Harry Potter movies
Breakfast Club (I've seen pieces, never all the way through)
Saving Private Ryan
I've only seen three Tom Cruise movies and only one (Risky Business) would probably be considered a good one. The other two (Knight and Day, War of the Worlds) I was forced to watch. I have no desire to see any others.
I've also never seen any Hitchcock films or any of the other classic horror movies.
How about Sandlot, Big, League of Their Own, When Harry Met Sally, Sabrina, or Rudy. My roommate in college had never seen any of these until she met me. She never understood the movie references I made.
I have much more than 3 if I go according to those lists!
-Airplane!
-Monty Python and the Holy Grail
-Young Frankenstein
-Tootsie
-Star Wars
-ET
-The Matrix
-Close Encounters of the Third Kind
-Singin' in the Rain
-West Side Story
-Gone With the Wind
-From Here to Eternity
-An Officer and a Gentleman
-Sudden Impact
-Raiders of the Lost Ark
-The Lord of the Rings
-Jaws
-L.A. Confidential
-Indiana Jones
...ok I was gonna go through both lists, but this one is long enough just from the first one!
I have never seen any of the Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter. I wouldn't mind watching Harry Potter but just never have taken the time to watch it.
I really haven't watched a lot of movies. The last movie I saw in the theater was "Eclipse"
Star Trek
Gone with the Wind
Steel Magnolias
Karate Kid
The Never-Ending Story
Die Hard
These are all according to my DH.
my read shelf:
Star Wars, Harry Potter, Jaws
I only very recently watched LOTR and 1 Indiana Jones movie, and that's basically because DH made me (we take turns picking DVDs to watch whenever we can't agree on one).
All of this and also:
The Godfather movies, The Star Wars movies.
Schindler's List (Wanted to, but too afraid of how sad it would be.)
Titanic
To Kill a Mockingbird

I think most of the allure of Top Gun was young Tom Cruise in a towel. I don't think this one will hold up now that he's more known for being crazy than for being a heartthrob. I think you have to have seen it as teen/college student with friends to develop the deep love for it. Risky Business is better... it fits in with the Breakfast Club and those other Brat Pack movies.
One of the most recent movies that I feel like everyone saw but me was Avatar.
I really don't like watching movies, especially in the past few years so I've seen some of the more "classic" but not recently popular ones.
I haven't seen about 3/4 of the movies listed in this thread, LOL. Here's a few more:
The Goonies
Wizard of Oz (I've seen bits and pieces, but I've never cared to watch it all the way through)
Harry Potter
that makes sense.
hmm,i've never seen risky business. perhaps i'll like it since i love the breakfast club!
I've watched some of the most obscure Oscar-nominated movies, including documentaries, but I haven't seen Avatar. I also missed all the Harry Potters except the first one.
I have never seen
dirty dancing,
gone with the wind (Im too afraid to watch this movie and not be uber pissed off bc my Mom made my Dad watch it once and said it was awful, the woman was a total biotch, LMAO!),
top gun (I cant stand Tom Cruise).
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
Goonies
Gremlins
The Matrix
Avatar
Pirates of the Caribbean
The Godfather(s)
12 Angry Men
One Who Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
To Kill a Mockingbird
Cat On A Hot Tin Roof
