Wiards Orchards?

Hi ladies I am mostly just a lurker Surprise but I was wondering if any of you had been to Wiards Orchard in Ypsilanti (Ithink?) I live in Shelby Twp and almost always go to Blakes in Armada but a friend wants us to go to Wiards. I guess I am wondering how you liked it there and if it is baby friendly (easy to navigate the stroller and such). Thanks so much =)

Re: Wiards Orchards?

  • I've never been to Wiards, but I've been to Plymouth Orchard (in Plymouth) and that's really nice and kid friendly.  Lots of animals to look at, hay rides, a shop, apples, cider, donuts, etc.  I don't think there's u-pick though, so it depends what you're going there for.  It was really nice, though.

  • Wiards is OK. We used to go there all of the time as kids. They have haunted houses, hay rides, etc.

The problem is that it's kind of expensive, and we decided it wasn't worth it. They used to give parts of their profits to charity or some kind of student org (i'm hazy on the details), but they no longer do. I wouldn't come all the way out to ypsi township from Shelby twp for Wiards, i guess is what i'm saying.

I've heard good things about plymouth as far as family friendly goes.

  • Thank you both! My friend lives in Dearborn Heights so I am driving down to her house..that is where she said we were going but could not tell me much about it. I am off to google Plymouth Orchards. (There will be a two year old, three year old and my 6 month old). Thanks again =)

  • I would second Plymouth Orchards if you're going more for the Orchard attraction, especially with kids - I only go to Wiard's at night for the haunted attractions and what not, and it is a bit on the procey side though, and it doesn't seem as kid friendly during the day.
