Embossing Tool ?

Hi girls, I have been hanging out at the decor board for a while but thought I would hop in here to ask you crafty ladies this specific question:

What is the best embossing heat tool out there for a reasonable price?

I want to try my hand at making personalized stationary.

Thanks for your expert advice!

xoxo

  • This is going to sound odd, but I use a heat gun from the hardware store.  They aren't pretty but they are less than half the price.

  • Paper Source is a store near me that was doing a demonstration on that. It was really cool and seemed super easy! Maybe google them if you don't have one near by?

Not odd at all.  When I got my heat gun, I was still in middle school (LONG, LONG time ago...think just after the dinosaurs died off), and at that time, all of the heat guns for stamping were purchased at hardware stores.  Still have it and it still works like a charm, though I rarely use it anymore.

  • I don't think you can go wrong with anyone you can find. I would go with the cheapest one from wherever is closest to you - hardware store, stamping store, craft store.

They are a pretty simple appliance. Just remember you don't want air flow, just directed heat.

  • I have the blue one from Joann's.  Bought it with a 40% off coupon so it came out to roughly $11 or so.
