Seeing decor out early for any holiday
Personally, it doesn't bother me. Still, if it helps, maybe rationalize it a bit.
Maybe they put the stuff out early so people can send holiday stuff to people around the world who don't have access to buying the stuff themselves. I had a friend teaching in Costa Rica and Paraguay for over two years and after missing her first Halloween made me send her candy corn the next year and it meant putting the candy in the mail by the first week of October to make sure it could get to her by Halloween. So if you see Christmas cards and candy out, stock up and maybe write a few extra cards to troops or other people in a situation similar to my friend.
Re: Seeing decor out early for any holiday
We send stuff out to DH's family in Northern Norway, actually have to send it by Nov 1 to make sure they get it in time for the holidays.
Also, places like Costco are where some small business buy from. They need to buy and organize their stock in time to get it out.
when I read the subject of your post I thought you meant people decorating their houses early.
On that note, I put the outside decorations up Thanksgiving weekend mostly because I have a 4 day weekend so I have extra time. I do not light any of them till December 1st.
Our tree ( a real one) never goes up till a week before Christmas.
The one thing that really annoys me is when I see Halloween/Autumn & Christmas decorations on homes AT THE SAME TIME.
