fabric pictures

Has anyone ever used those sheets to put pictures onto fabric? I want to make two raggie quilts with pictures. I have never thought about it before. Does anyone have any insight?

Re: fabric pictures

  • I made a quilt for my daughter using her wedding pictures on those fabric sheets.  I wish I could give you some tips but it was so long ago, I don't remember anything special.  I just followed the directions on the package.  Since I had never even made a quilt before that, I think it was pretty easy AND turned out rather well!

  • Do you remember what kind you used? Have they held up well after washings?

  • My senior year of high school the band seniors made a quilt (and by that I mean I did all of the hard work) for our band director. We just used iron-on transfer paper that you can print on.  Considering our limited shopping options, it likely came from wal-mart. I'm not sure how it holds up through washings, though, sorry.

  • I've used the Tailor brand printer fabric.  The package says dry clean only and to be honest the quilt I used it for is my wedding quilt and I have it hanging on the wall.  I hope I never have to clean it b/c I would be devastated if something happened to the photos.

Here is a post I just did about how you could do it without the material specifically for it. I just used some and will try to remember to see what brand it was because I liked it a lot.
