Re: Monday, and may this randoms make it better
Yay, October!
I had a fantastic weekend. Friday night we went over to a friend's house to watch the Tigers (boo rain out) and ordered some delicious pizza.
Saturday T and I went to work with H and when he was finished we went to a corn maze in Grant. We let T lead the way (until he got us really lost and then fell asleep!) and it was a ton of fun. I've never done a corn maze before. It was such a beautiful day - so nice to be outside. Saturday night we took T to his first hockey game.
Sunday I did about 8 million loads of laundry, and then had dinner with my grandpa. Also decided to list our TV on Craigslist because it was just sitting in our garage and I want to be able to park in thre soon, and someone came to pick it up last night.
Great weekend.
I had my birthday bonfire on Saturday night - it was a lot of fun.
Sunday I just vegged, took a nap, and then went to a friends house for a few hours.
I had a great weekend.
Challenging/exhausting/nourishing class Friday and Saturday. ArtPrize with funny friends Sat. night.
Church on Sunday with a strong message that goes with their ArtPrize collection this year (everybody matters.). Home, and then ArtPrize with Jim and the kids.
I completed week 2 of Couch to 5k last night. I feel great and I'm really loving the program and running in general.
I am nervous however that I'm not going to be ready by Nov 5th, but I'm going to keep plugging along.
I'm freezing.
The weather looks fantastic this week, huh? Yay.
OCTOBER????!!!! How did that sneak up on me? My baby turns 1 on Thursday! I am both excited and a little sad. We went and got him his gift last night...a Parent Push Tricycle. I am excited to use it with him.
My weekend was a little blah. I did not feel good all weekend with body aches, sore throat, etc. But today I am feeling a bit better. I have so much to do for Noah's party...I cannot be sick!
Here's to nice weather all week!!
My weekend was just perfect. No tears, no arguments with L, plus we enjoyed lots of great food, a trip to the farmer's market, plenty of sleep and it was all blessedly topped off with a totally smooth drive into the D this morning.
It seems that I'm finally surrendering to the rhythm of things.
You'll be ready and you'll do great!
Did you want me to join you on Nov 5? If you want some moral support, I'll sign up. If you're feeling like you'd rather go it alone, I'll skip it.
H is signing up to do it with me. Except he isn't training for it at all. He never exercises and he eats like crap but thinks he's going to wake up that morning and go run a 5k (and he thinks he's going to beat me!) Ugh. I'm starting to get annoyed with his cocky side, but then again I think 'what if he does beat me?'. That will suck!
If you want to run it with me, that would be cool! But maybe we should hold off until next spring when I can hopefully keep pace with you and not drag you down. Haha.
Yum, that sounds delicious.
I thought about you this weekend while we were at the corn maze. T fell alseep so we had to carry him for almost 30 minutes. Holy hell, that was hard. Then I thought about how you had to do the same thing and didn't have choice when Noah wasn't walking yet, since he weighs about the same as T. I feel for you! Haha. BTW is Noah walking yet?
Also, I hope you feel better soon. Being sick is not fun at all!
How did T fall asleep in the corn maze? That seems like a funny scene to me. "I'm lost, but I'm sleepy. I'll just lie down here and... zzzzz."
Amachuta, the first birthday snuck up on me both times. And they keep doing it. 3?! How is Henry almost 3?
NOOOOO! He is not walking yet.

I know, I know...everyone will tell me that when he is walking it will be harder. But I really cannot wait. He thinks it is just fab being carried around by his 104 lb. mom when he is nearly 27 lbs. I feel for you at the corn maze! Chalk it up to training for your c25k? haha....what we do for our kids!
I totally said that out loud while carrying him! haha.
Pretty much:
Haha, for real, he got grumpy and just stopped walking. So we picked him up, and he fell asleep.
HA! That's 2 all right... Can you imagine if adults did this? I'm grumpy, so I'm going to lie on the floor and refuse to continue.
Glad everyone seemed to have a great weekend!
D&M - You'll do just fine in your 5K. Your H, on the other hand, might be in for a wake up call. ;-)
This weekend was great. Babysat the nephew on Friday. He's starting to talk more and more and each new word melts my heart. Still working on "Aunt Juli" though. :-)
Friday night we had friends over for the Tigers game. Due to the rainout we ended up playing a rousing game of Sheepshead instead.
Saturday I enjoyed some ArtPrize in the evening followed by the Tigers game at Bdubs.
Sunday we biked to Schmohz for a potluck/$1 beer festivity. Of course the Tigers game almost gave me a heart attack, but I (and the Tigers) somehow survived. :-)
Juli, did you get to Sat's game in time to see the replay of the home plate ump getting hit with the ball? There was a collective "Oughhhhh" at the bar.
So... a stranger is following my gardening board on Pinterest. This is my first follower that I don't know. Feeling some pressure to step it up.
Hi, friends! I am feeling more human (and less sick) today. Gosh, that was a doozy of a cold.
Glad to hear that most of you had a great weekend! Amachuta, hope you're feeling better today.
My weekend wasn't great. I was sick. And I was working. It was our anniversary on Saturday, but we didn't really get a chance to celebrate. After I was done working, B met up with me and we were going to get some food. Too bad every restaurant downtown had over an hour wait! So then we decided to go to Twisted Rooster because we've always been able to get in there. But they had several homecoming groups, so they were extra busy. By then, I was sick, I had been working and on my feet all day, and I was starving. I was on the verge of collapse, T style. If only, that works for adults!
Ah, well. My health is improving and we have a Hawaiian vacation coming up! I can't complain!
There was a collective "Oughhhh" in my house too. That looked awful.
Kasa, you're very smart for scheduling illness before the Hawaiian vacation. I hope you took the opportunity to share with Kaso so he can also avoid being sick while away.
Glad you're feeling better. Too bad about Saturday's dinner. Grr...
Kaso started it. I caught it from him. He says that I should be thanking him. I have not done so yet.
Sorry about your anniversary dinner - such a bummer. On the bright side, Hawaii!!!!
And the T reference made me smile.
I just got myself a Traverse Cherry cappuccino.
I think cappuccinos will be a part of my routine this winter. Yum.
Italians would approve. Traditionally in Italy, cappuccino is a morning drink and you'll out yourself as a tourist if you order one after 10 a.m.
Haha. I usually drink them in the morning, and grab one on the way to work. But I was absolutely freeeeezing from 8-12 and decided to pick one up on my lunch. It was delicious.
