Psychic

Over the weekend we went to an Oktoberfest thing. Besides beer (obviously), they had a magician and a psychic, food, a band, etc. Even though I know it's hokey, I've always wanted my palm read, so I forked over 10 bucks to have it done. (The beer may have aided this decision).

Anyway, she told me various things, long and happy life, promotion coming at work, blah blah blah, and then she asked if I was trying to get pregnant. I said no, and she said "well then be really careful, because I see you becoming pregnant by the end of the year." 

So, I know it's silly, but I must admit I'm a little freaked out by it. And you better believe I'm going to be extra careful now! I may even POAS on Jan 1 just to make sure. (Also, she told me I'll have 3 kids - 2 girls and then a boy. I told DH we'd better start thinking of more girl names!).

Do you believe in psychics?

Ba-wa!  I really dont know what that is, but it came to my head when thinking about pregnancy. 

I've never had a reading or anything like that, so overall I would say I don't believe in them, but if I had a reading and pending on what she said, I might have a little bit of a different train of thought.

I went to an Angel Reader several years ago when I was in New Orleans.  Her reading was very interesting and quite emotional for me.  In fact, a number of the things she predicted have in fact happened.  I do believe in what she told me...although I wonder if these things would have happened if I had not gone or if I changed the course since I knew what she predicted:)

I was told by a psychic at my senior bash (a high school thing where they took all of the seniors and locked us all in a YMCA with activities/food/music/etc. from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. overnight) that I would be engaged three times total before I got married, and that one of my fiances would beat me. How's that for setting wonderful expectations for a 17-year-old girl?

I believe in mediums, but I don't know that I believe in psychics. I've never had anyone "predict" anything for me that actually came true. But communicating with the dead? I don't know, I don't have any super convincing real-life examples, but stories I've heard/things I've seen on TV leads me to believe that it could be possible. 

A mystery.

But yeah, I wouldn't put any stock in it.

I had 1 tell me I would have 3 kids (2 boys, 1 girl) & the girl was coming "soon".  That was 2.5 years ago.

Yes I do. Nobody has 'predicted' anything for me, nor have I asked them to. I believe that some people probably can. I believe in auras and having them read and cleansed. I once had a reading at a psychic fair and it was pretty amazing. It was students that read me. They told me things about myself that were very accurate and nobody would know. They didn't say anything that was off base, and they were very specific. I cried when I left. It was so overwhelming.

I'm with Heather-- I believe in mediums but I'm not sure I believe in psychics.  I don't think anyone can really know your future.  It seems silly because we can take measures to stop what they say from happening (like how you will be more careful now.)  Who knows.  I do think some people have a special intuitive gift, but not in the traditional psychic kind of way.
