ok ok, I shouldn't be shopping, but someone posted this in the F&B OOTD post and I kind of like them:
What do you think? (it's clicky)
I still don't have black boots because I just can't find a pair that fits right. I finally found a pair of brown ones after a very long search and I love them. If you want to help me look...
- riding boots are cute and I know they are in, but I'm 5' and if I'm going to spend $ on boots, they just have to have heels, lol
- I have sort of slender calves and I'm short, so I often have problems finding ones that don't gap in the back or come up too high (I like them right below the knee, but sometimes it weirdly hits at the knee)
- I don't like too pointy or too boxy and I also don't like it when the shoe doesn't lay flat on the ground (the above boots might do this, but I can't tell from the pic)
For some reason it's just really hard to find black boots - they look like a stripper or an old lady... something about it has been tricky.

Sorry, but I'm not a fan. The faux leather looks too faux. And I'm not a fan of the styling; it just looks a little sloppy to me.
For $200 you can find real leather boots on sale.
I have these and they're pretty awesome.

ooh, I like those. And I totally agree about the price - in general I've still never spent anywhere near that on shoes
(good or bad? lol) I just always wait for things to go on sale, but I'm starting to think for black boots I might just have to splurge. although those aren't in my size
ETA: and you're probably right that I should look for leather if I am going to spend that much

I think I have to ask H about this being my Christmas present, or finding me a place to sell an organ...
It will be so dangerous a year from now when we have two incomes!

I'm a 6 or 6.5 - those are a little too pointy I think though. But now I'm totally on the hunt... won't get much done today at work!

I don't really like them. On the model in the video they look kind of cheap and the material scrunches a lot. And you could definitely find something better for that price. What do you think of these? All from DSW.
