This vendor working on our cabinets? They are making me VERY stabby. We have an extremely short timeline here and they are doing whatever it takes to fvck with me and I am going to lose it. Yes, it is just cabinets but......
They measure a few weeks ago. The first week of the reno, btw. I knew we would be lucky if ANYTHING was right when we got our first rendering because...it just didn't seem like they listened. Received first rendering, all wrong. Sat with subcontractor for hours to go over things. Sent in changes. Received second rendering - still some issues - also received price and about sh!t my pants. Asked for price breakdown. Started "cutting" things out. Made a few *very very very very small* changes. Took four days to receive new rendering and when our subcontractor recieved it, he sent it back he said it was "so wrong." He didn't even want me to see it!
We are now on our third rendering and received the price. IT IS THE SAME PRICE THAT WE STARTED WITH. I cut out nearly $2k of stuff (yes, is that not ridiculous???????) and the PRICE IS THE SAME!!!!! So p!ssed. So, I went back to them and said 'Hey, I cut all of this stuff out, the price hasn't changed, so we need to add this particular thing back since I really want it and it apparently hasn't altered the price."
Get final price. And it is now $750 more.
Week four of renovation. Should be done in two weeks. And my goddamn cabinets aren't even in production yet.

Re: I am trying to be less b!tchy. But I may snap. I HAVE snapped.
It is Ward Wood. And the thing is...when we started this house project years ago, on another message board, I asked for cabinetry recommendations and they were HIGHLY recommended. And I guess it isn't fair for me to b!tch about them because maybe the communication breakdown isn't them. Maybe they are ultra busy because everyone is renovating before the holidays - I don't know. I am panicked- everything, at this point, is dependent on the cabinets. Can't lay the floor. Can't measure for countertops. Can't do the backsplash. Can't paint anything. So frustrated.
When I got home last night I was still FUMING. DH is not very confrontational, but apparently he called them and they "had words" (LOL at DH having words with anyone). Told them they needed to be delivered on Friday and that there is 24 hours in a day so to hop to it.
We'll see....
Way to go for your DH! Love that 24 hours in a day comment.
Um, well, it is true. Right before an SEC filing I am expected to work 24/7 for weeks to get it filed on time...why wouldn't ANY customer service oriented company work 24/7 to earn their customers business? And really, I could go on and on about this but I will save it for another time...
They did our cabinets as well but they aren't anything fancy and were finished when we moved in.
I think you have every right to be b!tchy. I'd want to fire them if you could find someone to complete them in your deadline. Hopefully your DH's talk with them will light a fire!
They are to be delivered next Wednesday which makes me pretty happy.
Countertop guy will measure Thursday and can have the countertops to us the next Wednesday.
So....we should be back on schedule assuming the other stuff can get done quickly.
I now have a new ceiling, a new exterior wall, and no holes in the roof!
