still keep interview since I got another offer?
A friend of mine talked to some people he knows and helped me land an interview at the company he works for. It's a good job, and is in banking, nothing glamorous but it's stable. I had a phone interview with the department manager this afternoon and set up an appointment for this Thursday.
Shortly after I set up the interview, I got an offer from a company that I had been wanting to work for. They are sending me the official offer package via FedEx tomorrow. I had been waiting and waiting for this and it finally came through.
How should I handle this? Should I still honor the interview since it was set up for me by a friend? I don't like the idea of wasting someone's time though, especially if that interview could be given to someone else who needs a job. I haven't told my friend yet since we live in different cities, but I will see him on Thursday when he travels here for work....
