DH and I went to see Cavalia this weekend and splurged for the "Horse Lover" section, since I've been horse-crazy my whole life and it was our second anniversary. Besides 4th row seats, the upgrade gave ticket holders a special encore kind of demonstration where a rider/trainer brought out one of his horses and practiced a few new tricks that the horse was learning. This gave the horse a chance to try things out in front of a smaller audience and gave us about 15 extra minutes of showtime. After that, we got to tour the tent stable and see all of the horses in their stalls and a bunch of the tack that was used in the show.
And...
Wow!! It was an absolutely amazing show. As someone who has ridden for most of her childhood - college, I really appreciated the level of skill and technical difficulty that went into the performances. The combination of music, set design, lighting, acrobats, and horses was superb. My husband, who has only ridden on a few trail rides, was also really entertained and fascinated by what they could get the horses to do. I highly recommend going and would recommend the pricier seats for anyone who has a true love for horses, but maybe not for someone who just enjoys how pretty they look.
