Dear Community,

Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Thank you.

Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.

security fool... that's me!

I feel like an idiot for having to ask this, but what can happen if someone here on the knot had access to my first and last name?  I remember before the wedding, I was careful to omit my last name from things like our wedding planning bio.  The reason being that some wack-job could potentially call our vendors and cancel their services.

But now that we're married.... what is the security risk now?  I mean... everyone and their cousin on facebook knows my last name (maiden and married).  My stalkers know my first and last name.  I'm about to post the link to the married bio I finally made, and noticed some of our photos show our first and last names.  Should I be worried, or not so paranoid?

  • I wonder this too.  I mean, your first and last name (and address and phone number) are in the phone book for all to see, right?  I have my facebook set to private, but people can still see my name (and picture).  This is just my rambling thoughts-- no real point to my post.
  • Haha, ramble away!  Well.  Here goes nothing then.  I'm posting my link!

  • You did a great job on the site!  It's beautiful!  Just glancing through it I didn't notice your last name anywhere.

  • I don't see any harm in posting your first and last name on here.  In this day and age, if someone wants to find you/stalk ya, they'd be able to do it regardless of if you posted your full name somewhere.

Your site turned out amazing by the way!

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.  So I'll just stop worrying.

And thanks for all the compliments, ladies!  I'm really  happy with how it turned out, too.
