Wedding Shower Host Gift. PLEASE HELP.
A couple very close to us is throwing us a Wedding Couples Shower in a few weeks. Since they are footing the bill all themselves, we really want to get them a great gift as a thank you.
I have just one idea: They just got married at the beginning of the year and I thought it might be nice to get them a gift from their wedding registry they did not receive. The only thing is that I am not sure if they have already purchased it for themselves.
I NEED HELP WITH IDEAS!!!
Re: Wedding Shower Host Gift. PLEASE HELP.
Welcome
What's your budget? I'd give a night at a local B&B or a GC to their favorite restaurant. If you know there are things they didn't get off the registry (I've been married 5 years and am still trying to complete my china), I'd get them a GC to one of their registry stores. I probably wouldn't give the item unless you know for certain.

Thinking of doing cosmetic updates to a dated home? These were our costs.
Could you get them a gift card to the store where they registered? That way, if they did buy it already, they can get something else. Or, if they didn't, you know there are items there they'd like to purchase.
You could also just buy it for them and get a gift reciept.
For hostess gifts for my showers, I stuck with small but personal items I knew the hosts would enjoy, like a bottle of wine + coasters + glass charms for one and a new yoga mat + a water bottle for another (she'd been complaining about her mat for some time, so I knew she was ready for a new one).
I agree with this. I got my hostesses a big basket filled with jars of jam, honey, salsa, pancake mix, etc from local vendors. I once received a cute holiday potholder (shower was around Christmas) stuffed with kitchen utensils, recipe cards and an apron. There's no need to spend a ton of money but something that speaks to something they enjoy plus a heartfelt note would show your gratitude.

Do you cook and do you live near each other? If yes, I just made/gave this gift that was a huge hit... "Give the gift of room service."
If the answer is no to the above questions, I have been the recipient of a wine club gift that I LOVE. You can choose for how long, how many bottles etc. At least for the one I belong too. Info on it...HERE
