Re: So since I'm sick on the couch

  • Can I come to your imaginary parties, please? Particularly the dessert one!

Actually, I'm trying to think/plan for a Christmas cookie exchange this year. I think it will need to be mid-December since a lot of my friends are teachers and have a "not until winter break!" mentality...when should I try and send invites for something like that? Would early November be TOO early, or would that be good since holiday plans tend to be made earlier than other months?

  • Maybe send a save the date/feeler email in early November, then the actual invite around Thanksgiving.  I've had pretty good luck with sending xmas invites out around Thanksgiving, even if it's more than 2 weeks before the event.
  • Hi!  Hope you're feeling better soon!  You should "plan" these parties professionally... BTW.  I used to work in the industry (< 10 years) and think you have a real talent for it - but what do I know?

Anyways - just read your earlier post... I would totally bail on the FSIL's bach party.  Esp. since your DH is willing to cover for you.  It doesn't sound like a lot of fun and you're not that in to it.  Am glad you quit her wedding planning to - I didn't know you had done that.  It sounded like a real thank-less task  (for lack of better words :)

BTW - am super cleaning my house in anticipation of my girls' party.  If you are ever in the NYC area please send me a PM and let me know!

    :)

  • Aw, I hope you're feeling better soon!

LOVE those frosted vases for the cocktail party--seasonal but not so literal.

You're so sweet to say that and I know you've said it before. I just couldn't do it professionally - my temperament doesn't suit.

DH and I have talked about doing New England some time, going to be "leafers" in Vermont ;)  We should do NYC if we ever actually make it up there!

  • I'm actually planning a holiday party for some local sorority sisters, so these are great ideas for me!  Thanks!

    I hope you feel better!

  • You've given me ideas and inspiration for holiday parties that up until this point have been in my head!

    Thanks for postingYes
