Who is making gifts this year?
I'm trying to make a few gifts for Christmas this year, like some tile coasters for my MIL who uses a bunch of random coasters. But I'm coming up blank with ideas for the rest of the people on my list.
Post what you're making, maybe we'll all get some ideas for someone on our lists.

Re: Who is making gifts this year?
Nephews on my side (3 years old)- Superhero capes
Niece(1 year old)- Doll I think
Niece(5 years old)- Nurse outfit (hat and apron)
Stepmom- Apron to match her kitchen, gathered clutch
Mom- bible cover and maybe a casserole cover
Mother in law- Large tote bag
Sister in law- purse I think
Nephew on my husbands side (3 years old) Playmat
I need to get sewing.
ETA:
L is getting a red riding hood cape
and I'm making apple butter to take home to the family too.
I am making gifts.
Unfortunately, the ILs do Secret Santa and haven't done the draw yet, so I don't know who I will have. I am pushing for the 2012 draw to be done in January so I have all year to plan! LOL
For my family (will be spending the holidays with aunt, uncle, and cousins), I am finding out the favorite color of each girl cousin and making them purses or tote/beach bags. I already know my aunt's favorite color and she will get the same thing. For my uncle, male cousin, and little boys (7 and 9) I have no idea what to make them.
For my brother, he is really into the 80s (neon) and snowboarding. At a craft fair recently, someone had turned vintage ski sweaters into pillows! You could totally tell they used to be ski sweaters, too (at least I could). If I can find a neon colored ski sweater at Goodwill, I'll make my brother either a pillow or an IPad sleeve out of it.
I'd love to see what everyone else is making!
PAIF and SAIF welcome. IVF questions welcome, too.
I started a while ago because I knew I'd be super busy when the new baby came, but I'm not sure if I'll get it all done.
Husband-wool felt ipad case
2 year old son-felt campfire set from Big Little Felt Universe book and a fort kit, possibly some dinosaur slippers, maybe a few more things if time, like the Eddie doll from Wee Wonderfuls or a doll bed from a clementine box.
4 month old daughter-taggie blanket, maybe a few soft toys
Niece-dinosaur tail, bean bags with her name on it, maybe a doll quilt
Three nephews-felt campfire sets and fort kits
Older three nieces-zip bags with necklaces from Etsy
youngest niece-owl teether
Parents, siblings, SIL/BIL-pumpkin apple bread (I tried doing more Christmas-y things one year and there was an outcry for the pumpkin apple bread, so sticking with that) canned apple pie filling to be used as apple crisp, handmade felt ornaments, maybe some napkins if time, probably oven mitts too.
amigurumi animals for my friends with kids (they are all around 2 years old)
Letterpress notecards for the women- I just got a home letterpress machine so I'm itching to use it
And the usual Shutterfly calendar of my son for all of the grandparents- maybe this year I won't forget to add in all of the grandma's birthdays, ooops.
Angel ornaments for the women in DH's family
Wreath ornaments for coworkers
Fabric wreaths for volleyball team
For DH's grandma - A pic of him and her together framed
For my dad - A pic of him and I together
I will bake some breads and muffins for neighbors and friends
I am going to make gifts but haven't settled on anything specific yet. I found this link on pinterest yesterday - 40 homemade Christmas gifts

Hubby - Pullover sweater
Mom - Cabled throw
After those two, which are going to take forever (hubby is 6'4"!), I'm hoping to take it a little easy this year. For most people, I plan to make something tasty, like peppermint bark or some other treat I found on Pinterest and probably one of these ornaments. I got this kit this weekend.
MIL and SIL have asked for things that I already have made, so that's easy. I may also make a big batch of these felted slippers for them and some of my other girlfriends.
Still thinking about what to give our dads and BIL.

I am going to make b&w oil/laser printer transfer towels for my aunts
a set of cards for my grandmas (we correspond via mail a lot since we live so far apart)
a bottle of flavored liqueur for my sister
an activity mat for my 2yo niece
I'm trying to keep it short because we'll be traveling to China in November and I won't have a lot of time for crafting!
I'm doing gift baskets for all the people that I have an impossible time buying for:
ILs, DH's aunt and uncle, his grandparents, a couple other random people around here including our landlord: it will have several (probably 4-5 each) jars of things I canned this summer/fall like pie filling, corn relish, tomato soup, pear butter, and so on. It'll also have homemade vanilla, some homemade kitchen towels that hang on the stove (http://www.realphotography.com/traci/?p=986) and I will fill in as I get to the end. Thinking about doing tile coasters as well.
Hoping to get ideas from everyone else!

For my mom and older-younger sister (22) I am making seasonal mug rugs (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentines Day, Fall, St. Patricks Day, etc).
For my dad, I think I am going to make him a a St. Louis Caridnals quilt. I want to piece the top to look like the logo.
No final decisions on the rest.

This year I'm making:
Something for MIL and FIL's new house- but they don't have decor or a color scheme yet, so I couldn't tell you what.
A necklace for my mom.
A cookie monster lovie for our nephew.
I may or may not make something for my sister- I purchased the fabric to make her a tote bag, but I may not be able to make it because of time considerations.
Stand up for something you believe in.
We usually make treat tins (and by we, I mean me and then put H's name on it) that have oreo truffles, smores-on-a-stick and some kinds of biscotti in them. Last year, the triple chocolate biscotti was a big hit. I'm considering making just the triple chocolate biscotti and some kind of truffles, but not oreo this year (my aunt has copied off me and started making them too so it's lost its appeal for me). I've seen some pins for cake truffles, so I need to do some more research to see what I'll make.
I wanted to make MIL a necklace of somekind, but I don't know what. Her birthday is next month too, plus she's that "woman who has everything or the money to buy what she wants" type, so she's difficult.
I might make SIL a tote bag of some kind (she has 4 kids now). My list is so vast and they're all hard to buy for.

May I suggest these?
http://annies-eats.net/2011/03/17/blackberry-truffles/
They're AMAZING.
Stand up for something you believe in.
Well, last Christmas it was 10 degrees and we got 17 inches of snow overnight so taking them out of the fridge into the car was like putting them into the freezer lol.
I make truffles well ahead of time and freeze them. I take them out a few days before I get ready to put everything together and put them in the fridge. I usually make mine with condensed milk instead of cream cheese and I use almond bark (candy coating) so it doesn't melt as easily as other cooking chocolate.
Everything else I make a day or so before I put the tins together. That way it's fresh. Last year I had a friend come over and spend the evening cooking goodies and we had a lot of fun, even if our marshmallows failed miserably.

I really like homemade gifts. What's great about them is they're a little extra special and can be very inexpensive without anyone caring. Here are some of my latest creations.
- Breakfast in a box
- Wine cork charms
- Plantsphere
- Room service
My breakfast in the box has been the most popular by far! However, my personal fav is the Room Service one. BUT it's not practical to give out to too many people.I'm aiming for all homemade this year! we'll see how that goes
my cousins are getting lounge pants and a tee
aunt+uncle are getting coffee mugs decked out w/silhouette cut vinyl, coffee cup cozies, and some dunkin coffee
grandmother in law i'm going to try a rag quilt... maybe one for mil too, she's frigid. Yup, I meant that double entendre! ;P
BIL and wife, cork board ( I raided their stash of corks!) will also have to make a onsie/ burpcloths for lo. idk for the dog.
all my gal pals are getting homemade body scrub and a makeup bag
I still need more ideas... and time!
FIL- a bunch of homemade baking extracts
SILs- Hats/headbands and scarves
MIL- wine bats/wine (and we bought a corkcicle....best invention ever!)
"Be the Lego Lady"
Can I just say how thankful I am that our family does not do "adult" gifts! BEST decision we all made EVER a few years ago!
We spoil the kids rotten though!
My Valentine Bookends (2~13~13, 2~15~09)
I've got a long list of projects lined up for gifts. The next month until we close on our new house, my goal is to get everything packed and to get as many gifts made as possible.
For my mom- a tree skirt for her birthday in Nov. and modge podge photo canvasses
Both sisters- modge podge photo canvasses (they both just had babies!)
MIL- Sewing box made from an old cheese wheel box. (just needs finishing touches!)
niece- Molly the Monkey stuffie (done!), handkerchief dress
nephew- crocheted cow(done!), knitted Rhino romper (1/2 done!)
DD1- a few different dresses, fabric ABC magnets, stuffed dress up doll, crochet ABC afghan
DD2- birthday (in 2 weeks! ahh!)- Strawberry Shortcake quilt (done!), a few dresses Christmas-stuffed dress up doll, a few dresses, and a few other things that I haven't decided on quite yet.
Most of my gifts this year will be handmade! I'm only buying the males gifts!
Our biggest gift this year is our new house! Can't wait to move!
