RFOTD

Raw termites taste like pineapple.

Re: RFOTD

  • Ew ew ewwwww!!!  Not that I don't like pineapples (I have some waiting in the fridge) but I really hope I don't think about eating raw termites when I go to have my snack later!
I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

Yes, that could ruin pineapple. I'm just glad to know if I'm ever in a man vs. wild type scenario that I could eat a raw termite without throwing up...Ok, in theory I could.

  • People do eat termites. I think the Masai do in Africa. My cousins lived in Botswana when they were kids and they ate some large flying bug. They would catch it flying, rip off it's wings (which I assume killed it) and ate the body. Apparently it tastes like bacon.
