Applesauce with Roasted Pork

So I tend to make my applesauce in the crock pot - cook it all day, then add cinnamon and some sugar to taste - How do you cook applesauce?  I want to make some on Saturday for a dinner party so was going to do it on the stove top and serve warm with roasted pork - any thoughts?  Thanks!!!

Re: Applesauce with Roasted Pork

  • I always just do it on the stove - takes like 15 min, but I don't make a huge amount either. The way I do it is super simple; basic recipe is about 3/4 cup water for every 4 regular apples. Peel and chop up the apples, cover them with the water, add sugar (I usually only add a little sugar, like 1/8 cup), stir. Boil till softened, then mash with a potato masher. Add cinnamon. Simple, but yummy! I also try to use sweeter apples.
