Shauni

I saw a few posts back that Gerren won a weekend trip to Newport! Congrats that's awesome recognition!! If you need/want any rec's for the area let me know, I live about 30 minutes north of Newport.  November is a great time of year to go, the weather isn't horrible and the tourists are gone!!!

Re: Shauni

  • Thanks so much!  We cannot wait!  We have been to the area one before, but never to eat.  We will be there for two evenings for dinner, won't want to spend a fortune.  What can you suggest?
  • The great thing about eating in Newport is that *honestly* everything is really good and super fresh.  The Thames st. area is FULL of tavern/casual type places.  Also, because it's off season, you might find a great deal on restaurants.

    My favorites are:

The Black Pearl (a little pricey-r) but it's a must on most peoples trips to Newport - chowder + lunchtime = perfection

    Brick Alley Pub

    The Red Parrot

22 Bowen's warf is one of my favorites, but it's a splurge

  • Googling these all now!  Thank you!
