I'm in the running for a new position and I REALLY want it. Things at my job have gone from bad to worse with no signs of it getting better.
Ultimately, I'm not cut out to be a government employee. I thrive in an environment where time=money so things need to get done. There has been a ton of other drama involved but I'm moving on.
So, I've passed the first two interviews with flying colors for a position with a government contractor (no, I don't think I'll ever fully escape the gov considering where we live), but at least for them, time=money big time. It will definitely have its frustrations, but the pay is MUCH better and the schedule is flexible. I really, really hope it works out. I could use all the nestie love and good juju I can get!
Re: need some T&P, please!
Sending lots of job dust your way!
Are you still pursuing the library path?
Thank you!
And, no. After some soul searching, I realized my issue with my previous position was not what I was doing but where I was doing it. Not to mention there are far more library students than there are open positions AND the only place to really make money as a librarian is in the government (unless you are lucky enough to be a corporate librarian)...I've realized it really isn't the path for me.
I'm thinking about getting my project management certification, but I'm going to get into a better gig and spend some time there first. One change at a time
