S/O Question Favorite Things/Non-Holiday
What would you think of a "favorite things" party at some other time of year? Is it just the holiday part that's problematic, or would you just not want to go to a party where you were asked to bring something?
Thanks to the magic of Pinterest and Google, I've seen it done now as (1) a holiday party, (2) a birthday party (people bring items in lieu of bringing gifts), and (3) an any-time-of-year-random-excuse theme party.
Does it just depend on circle of friends, or is there something horrifically poor taste about the theme in general that I'm just missing?

Re: S/O Question Favorite Things/Non-Holiday
Hi! I don't know if it is in poor taste... just not something I would be as interested in as a guest. If you want to throw an any-time-of the year party - would just do seasonal or event related. re: in lieu of a birthday gift - as long as you're not the birthday girl!
And definitely, doing it at a less stressful time of year would make it a lot more fun for me, no matter what.
I would love it at the holidays (already replied to that one) and I would love it at a different time.
But I apparently have a circle of friends who would make it worthwhile.
