    Yay Ashlee!

Thanks girls for the good vibes. I disregarded my own advice to Brianna this morning and have done some Googling. Things are 50/50 on it turning out well, which I guess it better than nothing, right?

Brianna - Regarding removing their own IUDs - yes! If you google how to remove IUD yourself you will find detailed tutorials and many, many women who did this. I can't even imagine and I think it is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

Did you dr advise you to wait a cycle or just jump right in?

She didn't say - she said "things will get back to normal either immediately or within a month, depending on where you are in the cycle.  I had one patient who was pregnant within two weeks of having the IUD out!"

To me - that doesn't scream "wait a little bit before trying" - but I have no idea and Google scares me lol.

The Bump scares me.  There are all these ladies that have had a really difficult time conceiving and it makes me think that it is just so difficult to have a baby.  Of course, if I step back and think about it, LOTS of people are having babies, those are probably just a small minority of ladies, so I need to not go down that rat hole in my mind.

  • Well I had the sonogram.  I'm so excited.  It looks like a baby now instead of a gummy bear.  Baby was being difficult at first and didn't want to share the "goods" so the tech had to turn off the monitor and "go closer" for a good look but she is 100% sure.  Tomorrow by 7pm we'll know what it is!  We do know we have 2 arms, 2 legs, a cute little nose, 2 eyes, stomach, heart, diaphram, and brain.  That was all she marked on the screen but she said everything looked great.  I'm measuring 19w 4d but she thinks that is because of all the issues I've been having and we are still keeping my same EDD of 2/20/2012.  I'd post the profile pic she gave me if I knew how but I'm going to put it on FB later tonight

  • As for all the baby talk, whats funny is that even though I have no desire to have them I could care less about the baby talk and there really isnt such a thing as TMI (with the exception of the one picture Leslie talked about from another board).

FYI in case anyone was wondering.....red clown makeup stains.

Leslie - all the good mojo I can muster for you!

Hope you all have fun at Angela's wedding tonight, and book club tomorrow. I am going to have to join you one of these months!

Have any of you gotten a flu shot?  I got my first one today, so I'm hoping I don't get sick from it.  I have WAY to busy of a weekend.

And a little confession - I got the flu shot b/c DH and I are planning on trying to have a baby too!  We went to OB last week and did a consult with her and some bloodwork.  I had vaccines updated today, and we are going to start next month!  Yay!  Seems like that is a common theme around here lately. :)

Can you still play kickball?  :)

    YAY!!

  • Will you post the "decision" on FB tomorrow night?  It'll give me a reason to ignore my ILs for a few minutes.....

Honestly, I would say do what you think feels right for you.

It seems at first glance like there is an over-abundance of women who are having trouble conceiving over there. I realized after lurking for the past six months that it's not actually true.

You have to think about the breakdown of the Bump boards - 90% of the women on the Bump are pregnant and are either posting to their month boards or to their Trimester board. They don't post on any of the TTC boards, so that leaves only the women having trouble on boards like TTGP, etc.

All of that being said, I'm not leaving Getting Pregnant any time soon. Just as I thought it would, announcing the lateness to the board at large broke the waiting game and I am officially on to cycle 7.

I have a suspicion about why I was late but I don't want to accept that it may be the truth, so I'm just going to go with I have no idea. No sadness really, just relieved to not have to worry about it anymore. :)

If this was to me, yes it will be on FB.  DH's family couldn't make it in since Grandma's not doing so well and it's one of the cousin's bdays so we are going to post it so they know.  Look for it around 7:30-8 tomorrow night!

I'm okay with the baby talk as well.  I really wish someone would explain what CD # and all the terminology you guys are throwing around because I haven't a clue.  Yes, I could go figure it out myself but I don't want to put that much effort into it until I have to.

Oh, no :(  Is the red on your face or did you get it on clothes?

  • I haven't been to TB, but I agree about the abundance of difficulties not being the "norm".    Unless they just so happen to be knotties, not that many people really come to chat on online boards unless they have a problem.  At least I wouldn't think so.

Like I came to the knot because I had no freakin idea how to plan a wedding.   You guys saved my life!! Haha.

As far as babies, someone is going to have to give me baby lessons at some point.   I don't even know what to do with an infant.  Yes, I'm serious.  Never even held one.

This is true. You truly would be surprised at the number of women who conceive on their first or second cycle trying. If you only tried for two cycles and got pregnant you would seek out a pregnancy message board, like your birth month board on the bump. Most people on the TTC boards have been trying for a long time because they didn't seek a community until they realized it wasn't happening right away and wanted to talk to others in the same boat.

On my face, I am told it will come off with rubbing alcohol so we shall see once I get home.

I thought I quoted it.  Oh, well.  Good!  Maybe I can drag it out.

  • I watched Ugly Betty at lunch...oh how I miss that show.

Our phones have been wonky the last couple of days at work so it has been quiet on that end!

  • I know it's lame but I find Pinterest to be so relaxing. I feel energized to be creative and calm at the same time while looking at things or searching for ideas.

Has it been super slow for you lately?  I've only been on at home, but other websites seem to be okay so I don't think it's on my end... but Pintrest has seemed enfuriatingly slow lately!

Well, if anything, it will make a great story for the Nestie picture tonight!  :)

Leslie, bummer on AF showing up.  I've had 3 friends recently who had BFP's after trying for 8 months.   I don't know why, but I keep thinking that is your magic number too.

Angie, I meant to comment on your daisies earlier.  I planted some gerber's this spring, and they bloomed like crazy.  Then nothing this summer.  The yellow one died a month ago b/c one of the dogs decided it was his urinal, the orange one has perked up but no flowers.  Oh, but the red one, I've had like 5 flowers in the past month.  It is so pretty!

Nope. As evidenced from my recent pinning spree, it's been working great. Haha!

  • I like babies.  I just don't want one of my own... for now.
  • Just a PSA - I was at Sam's last night (new one on NW hwy & Webb Chappel) and they have some AWESOME HUGE pumpkins for $8. I usually see these for sale at garden stores for $30+ dollars.  They are awesome, I bought two and may go back for more.  :)

I have no idea what I am bringing to book club and feel like a poor planner since I wont have time to make anything tonight I will have to wing it tomorrow.  Super slacker especially considering I didnt read the book past 27%.

Leslie, lots of good vibes your way.

Can you bring the stuff I PMed you about and I'll bring the money?

  • I hate it when people say something to get a reaction and then don't get the reaction they expected and then continue to say it. It's not only annoying but also proves just how much the something matters to them even when they continue to claim it doesn't.

I also need a giant pumpkin but since my Sam's membership expired I would rather not pay $45 + the cost of the pumpkin for it...I guess I will just make do with my normal sized pumpkins...haha! :)

Yea my cousin got KU on the first try.. She had to cause her husband lives in Ireland and she's in Chicago so trying is far inbetween. If I felt like I was stable I think we would even start trying.

Leslie, I'm sorry to hear it wasn't your month!

This one is also running a special through the weekend (it opened last week).  $40 for membership, plus 3 extra months.  It was almost time to renew, so I took advantage.  :)  But yes, if it is just for a pumpkin, it doesn't make it any cheaper.  :)

  • 1.  Are you & DH dressing up?  If so, as what?  Do you do couple costumes, or are those too cheesy for you?

We dress up as a family in a theme. DH, Me, and our two year old will be SWAT team members this year. It is cheesy, but we have fun with it. Smile

    2.  What are you doing - just giving out candy? Party? Bar?  All three?  Something else?

We have several family friendly events to go to that night. We also have a party to attend the weekend before Halloween.
