Soma Sushi - any good?

I'm thinking of lunch there, today. Anyone been there? Thoughts?

Re: Soma Sushi - any good?

  • It's good, I think you pay for the atmosphere too. The crazy Irishman is one of their best selling rolls but I don't really get why, there is too much stuff on it for me. Houston Press recently rated their Akaushi short ribs in their top 100 dishes, something to consider.

Oishii is my favorite, but it's overly crowded at peak hours.

  • If you're going to be in the West Gray area, Osaka on Westheimer is WAY better. Some of the best sushi in town, IMO. I do like Oishii, too, but who wants to drive the galleria area at lunch? ugh.

  • I love it. I think the rolls are bigger than you would find at some of the other restaurants. It is owned by Azuma and they share some of the same rolls on their menu.

  • Yes, I think it is good! Might be a little over-priced but as another poster mentioned, you are paying for atmosphere. Really cool place!
