I'm sad that they lost last night BUT I'm happy that I don't have to stay up until midnight watching the game and then have to get up early for work the next day. Plus they didn't play well. A-Rod sucked (struck out 3 times, 2 of those with the bases loaded). K-Rod is more like it. I can't believe he has such a hype. I honestly don't think he's worth the money. I mean Jeter at least tried to get a hit and practically hit one out of the park last night, not his usual style. I was frustrated with the team not being able to score with the bases loaded and one out (more than once!) Plus the pitching just wasn't there last night. I feel bad that Nova is hurt - first post season game. Scraping together pitching - it was sad.
Re: Yankee game thoughts
I agree about the rain start. CC certainly didn't have it on his second start. I think those 6 outs before the rain really threw him off.
I agree on the 3 guys you mentioned Read. My sister has a bet with her boss about Cano and Granderson. She thinks Granderson will be MVP and he thinks Cano. I'm not sure if either one will get it now that the Yankees are done.
It all came down to one game really. Can't win them all.
Oh and I really hate how so many of my Red Sox fan friends are posting crap on facebook today about the Yankees. They got farther than the Sox. They didn't lose 19 out of 26 games at the end of the season. Before those 26 games were played I thought it was a no brainer that the Sox would be in the playoffs with the Yankees but the last 26 games were awful for the Sox and like the Yankees performance last night, they have no one to blame but themselves. One more hit last night would have made the difference between being in the ALCS and not. If A-Rod had gotten 1 hit instead of a strike out, the Yankees would be moving on. They have no one to blame but themselves.
Now that the Yankees are out, I don't usually watch other teams in baseball. Now I can concentrate on football lol as well as getting some sleep at night.
sheer crap and honestly, as a fan...I'm sick of the excuses- the yankees should be winning and their pitching has suffered for years- and I dont know what the hell they doing- work the draft or your farm team...seriously...
and A-Rod- ugh...he sh!ts the bed...they yankees have always spent money on older established players than risk a bad season on a young group- KWIM...
honestly, we're going to have to tear down and build up- and it might be ugly for a couple of seasons.
Now that the yanks are out- I could care...
