I know we have these every now and then but i usually don't pay attention.
I need something new for the nook. easy reading, appropriate for the middle of the night. I LOVED the hunger games series. I don't do vampires. I'm eh about ...crap, I forget her name...jodi something, The Tenth Circle, etc.
Re: books
I'm reading the Game of Thrones series. I don't usually dig fantasy but it is a great story (helps that I watched the HBO series).
Do you like Jennifer Weiner at all? I like her books.
Also, for quick mindless reading I am always game for a John Grisham novel :-)
If you are looking for more similar to HG I have heard great things about Divergent. Delirium was pretty good. They all fall into the same dystopian genre.
more chick lit type books that were really quick read (like I read one of them in 4 hours and the other in about 5) Were Lola and the Boy Next Door and Anna and the French Kiss. So good.

I love Elin Hilderbrand. She feeds my obsession with Nantucket.
I also love Kirsten Hannah (or is it Kristin Hannah).

Ditto this.
For Jodi Picoult, I find that I really like some of her stuff and I really don't like some of it. I did not like The Tenth Circle, but I did like Plain Truth. I'm kind of the same with Jennifer Weiner - Fly Away Home was pretty good.
Barbara Delinsky is pretty good, I think. I liked Family Tree by here and have read a couple others that I enjoyed.
One book I randomly picked up and liked was The Mercy of Thin Air by Ronlyn Domingue. It's a ghost story, but not a scary ghost story.
Other things I have liked that aren't super long or intense:
Fireflies in December by Jennifer Valent
Those Who Save Us by Jenna Blum
The Last Summer (of You and Me) by Ann Brashares

Hmmmm, well I get to start Mockingjay on the airplane tomorrow and I'm looking forward to that almost as much as seeing L, lol:)
I'm with Jo, I did not like the Tenth Circle, but I have really really liked almost all of the Jodi Picoult books I've read.
I have book #2 of the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series, but that isn't overly easy reading.
I read Water for Elephants recently and really liked it, John Grisham books, The Help if you haven't read that yet....um, Emily Giffin books? They are pretty easy reads. I haven't done any of Jennifer Weiner's but I think I'll try one out soon after I'm done with all the series I keep starting.
I just finished Garden Spells from some author with the last name Addison...Sarah? I read it for a book club. It's not my normal type of book. It's chick lit and I liked it.
I'm now reading Moloka'i which is about a Hawaiian girl with leprosy in the late 1800s.
