Pumpkin puree in Brussels?

Is it possible to find/buy?  I am really wanting some pumpkin bread/muffins/pie anything...... I guess 'tis the season...... and I haven't been able to find it anywhere!  Granted, I've really only looked at Carrefour, but still.....  any tips??

Re: Pumpkin puree in Brussels?

  • Try some of the American stores online. They usually carry Libby's packed pumpkin, but it's expensive.

If you can source fresh pumpkins, it's a lot cheaper than buying a can. It's more work, but it tastes better! Just roast it in the oven til it's soft, and puree with a blender/food processor/potato masher/fork (whatever you have on hand, really), and add whatever spices you like.

  • You can buy it at the American store in Antwerp. We went there last year and bought stuffing but I refused to pay, I think it was 8 euros per can, for pumpkin. Like Bananas said...it's SUPER easy to make. A year ago I couldn't boil water but managed to make fresh pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving...

  • Thanks Ladies.  Think I'll give it a whirl.  I'm also going to be making baby food, so why not.....
