Party craft - making a dress from a shirt

Don't worry, it is not for adults. My 10 year old daughter is having a slumber party. I'm trying to come up with a theme. I thought a contest like Project Runway would be fun. However, the girls don't sew. I entered some search terms for making outfits. I came across things like making dresses from toilet paper and making a dress out of a Tshirt. I started thinking it would be easiest to start with a shirt and let them cut it up. Some of the tutorials had them cutting out sleeves and necklines. They made everything from halters, one shoulder, straps, belts, fringe, and flower embellishments.

I found these ladies blouses super-cheap. I imagine that they'll fit the kids like a dress that falls between mid-thigh and knee. I can buy ribbons, boas, sequins and flowers. What should they use to stick it together? Doesn't the no-sew glue take a long time to dry? Someone mentioned just stapling the fabric. Would that work?

Have you seen any tutorials or templates that would give the girls inspiration? Those that I found for the Tshirt dresses weren't well suited for kids... not bad, just not their style.
