What do you use to kill grass?

We have a gravel driveway and we have grass growing in the middle of it. I know there are quite a few spray chemicals out there, but not sure which one works the best.

Any good suggestions?

We are thinking of buying a liquid chemical and then buying a sprayer and spraying down the grass to kill it.

  • We've always had good luck with round-up. We spray it along the edge of our chain link fence in the spring and it keeps the grass dead until next season.

  • I'd use Roundup. I would NOT use anything long-lasting (such as ones that claim to control weeds for a year, or 3 years).

  • After I had some major issues after spilling Round Up on myself (chills, vomiting, rash, migraine and the shits) I only use organic methods.

We had the same issue you have. Fortunately, grass growing in the gravel comes out in nice, large pieces and is ridiculously easy to pull out. 10 minutes max. For more resistant weeds, I use boiling water. Works great also; weeds turn black within 12 hours.

Yes- we have grass growing in the gravel in the middle of our driveway. So annoying! I will definitely try the boiling water method.

  • In the gravel, river rock and sidewalk, I use a long handled torch. Anywhere I'm not comfortable using that, I use boiling water. I've never tried vinager. I'm going to try that today.
