We're having a housewarming party next week and I don't have enough dinner plates and flatware for everyone, plus I wouldn't have the time to wash everything for all our guests anyway.
Can anyone recommend a good brand of disposable dinnerware and utensils? Plates that won't rip if they get wet, flatware that doesn't have an unpleasant aftertaste (we once visited someone who used bamboo forks and they made the food taste like wood), etc. And not horribly expensive.
Since we're hosting people next week, it'd have to be something I could order quickly from Amazon, or that I can pick up in Target or major supermarkets (I'm near a Shop Rite and a Whole Foods).
Thanks!
Re: Disposable dinnerware for party
You could get compostable plates, cups and utensils and then compost all your leftover food along with the dinnerware. In my experience, any brand labled compostable should be fine. Don't do this option if you plan to throw it all away, though.

I've always like the Preserve line of products, they're made from old yogurt cups. I have their toothbrush and razor. Their plates and cutlery are very similar in price to disposable ones, and you can use them for all your parties without creating any waste. Plus they're diswasher safe!

I don't know the brand names, but i know my whole foods (indiana) has compostable dinnerware. There are also plates there made out of fallen palm leaves.
It might be tacky but you could ask to borrow someone's silverware. (like a parent or a sibling), good luck and congrats on your house!
