B&M Monday

Re: B&M Monday

  • I really hate how certain people can get my heart pounding and make my blood pressure rise (just guessing this is what happens) just by speaking or seeing their name.  I need to learn to not react that way.  I'm also really tired of figuring out lunch plans only for the other person to just randomly leave for their lunch when I'm supposed to leave.  Only 4.5 hours until I can go home for 2 days...4.5 hours, 4.5 hours.

  • Tiffany - hang in there, keep reading... it's really not that bad once you get it figured out, promise!
  • Leslie- I love that tile.  Good choice!  I'm sorry about the nagging from your neighbors.  Have you tried giving up gluten?  I only ask because I was talking about gluten-free stuff with someone and I remembered this blog I used to stal...follow and she swears that the only reason they have their son is because she went gluten free.  They had years of issues.

  • My stomach is hurting really bad.  The last time it did this, I had the worst visit from Aunt Flo ever.

I'm not going to B&M about my weekend:

    #1:  The Aggies won.

#2:  My ILs were here so I think most of you know how awesome of a time I had.  Suffice it to say, they spent about 2-2 1/2 hours on the phone Saturday either talking to their daughter or trying to get a hold of her.  Why even bother coming?  I also got invited to sit down in my own living room.  I passed.

  • Leslie- That'll look great!  I wish we had a fireplace! :-)

BL- I'm glad everything is okay with him!

I am still sad that I didn't get to go to book club!  I should be able to make it to the next one though!

  • Angie - we are torn about putting the TV above the fireplace for that very reason. Please look at your remote and let me know. Randall would love to do it but the boxes, etc. make me want to keep it where it is.

Tiffany - I know! When I first read it I was like are you kidding me? TMI-city.

Jaymi - I would be a horrible person to everyone if gluten was not part of my life, I need bread! I don't doubt that there are some people for whom giving up gluten really helps and no disrespect to you or your friend or any gluten free Nesties but it seems like it is the new "thing" to do to go gluten-free to fix what ails you. But I could be completely wrong and gluten could fix everything. Who knows?

In case anyone is curious - My next steps are #1 looking into an accupuncturist, supposedly this has done the trick for a lot of women. #2 Tapering off on the running. I love running like it's no ones business but for the second time ratcheting up my milage messed with cycle, so I am starting to believe that their correlation is not just coincidence. I am really sad to slow down and let go of the goal of running the Cowtown in Feb but I have the rest of my life to run the Cowtown.

  • Oh and my other B&M is that tomorrow would've been the day that we were supposed to do our TTD pictures :-(  Stupid DH!  :-p

Leslie- Acupuncture freaks me out.  I don't know if I would be able to do it.  Does it hurt you think?

whaaaaaaa? Man. You're a saint, you really are.

When the Aggie game started, the Florida/LSU game was still going (FIL and MIL both did their grad work at Florida; SIL and BIL both went to LSU), so I went into the study to watch the Aggie game.  When dinner was ready, I went and ate with everyone and sat with MIL while she finished (she's slower at eating than I am).  After being called wasteful (since I didn't want to save food that was going to start spoiling before we could eat it), I decided to go back to the study.  However, before I could go, my FIL invited me to sit on the couch with them in the living room.  I apologized and said, "No, the Aggies are doing better with me in the other room" and slipped back to the study.  This was after all the phone calls with SIL and MIL would get upset when SIL wouldn't call her back right away or pick up the phone.

I'm notoriously quick-tempered, so this would not have flown in my house. You come to visit me, you pay attention to me. You do what I say we're going to do. In my house. It's one thing to give deference to a guest, but to have to go to the study to watch the game you want to watch? And then have someone criticize your food storage choices? No ma'am. I repeat, you're a saint, and Bill is lucky to have you. I don't know how you put up with it.

    AND

Sarah & Leslie - I'm an accupuncture vet. I swear by it for back pain. I won't say it's a pleasant experience, but I also won't say it "hurts". Hurt really isn't the right word. For me, it mostly feels like hitting your funny bone... except, well, over and over again, all over your body. But it's definitely worth a try, in my opinion. People in my family have used it for everything from muscle pain to cluster migraines to weight loss!

Agreed, agreed, and agreed.  Julie - if you need someone to come finger-wave on your behalf and call her by her first name... I will do it.

  • Leslie,  I PM'd you about the remote.

Julie - wow, just wow.  That's all I have to say about that.  What a piece of work they are!

Oh, I hear you!  With the exception of the few bites of dessert I had Saturday (which were gross, btw, which makes me regret it even more), I am starting week 3 of no sweets/desserts, well now minimal sweets/desserts and I honestly have to say I have done outstanding and have surprised myself.  I honestly thought I would be a raging B and have an extremely hard time with this but I haven't.  With the exception of today, I haven't had cravings and I've had no problem passing on the sweets people bring by.  So if it's possible for me to get a grip on the sugars, then anything is possible, LOL.

I haven't a clue how gluten assists with the process but yes it does seem like the thing to do.  I had never heard about it until that blog and now it seems to be everywhere.  Acupuncture sounds a lot easier than giving up bread- good luck!

What book is all the TMI talk referring to?

TCOYF. I actually bought a 75% copy at Borders when they were going out of business with the intention of letting you borrow it the next time I saw you. Tiffany beat you to it but I'm sure she will let you have it next and then you can get it back to me after you read it. :)

  • Hey Ladies!

My B&M - people need to learn when to leave a party.  If you are the last 3 people after 30 others have left, and the host has cleaned up, turned off all lights/tv's, asked you to move out of the way while washing and putting away dishes, you need to leave.  Not stand in my kitchen and pour another drink.  DH, when I tell you I'm ready for bed and we need to get them out, please help me out and don't just talk with them for another 1/2 hour.  I finally walked in said "good night" turned and went to my room.  They finally got the message it was time to leave.

Brianna - I"ll go with you when you go straighten out Julie's In-laws.

Where's the Nestie picture from Angela's wedding? I want to see!

Tiffany, sorry Titan wasn't being fun.  But did you have fun meeting him?  I'm jealous you got to, I love great danes!

BL - glad you found someone to watch after your co-worker. Is he doing okay?

Leslie - sorry about the neighbors.  :(

I'm having a hard time remembering everything else now that I've read through it all.  Hope everyone's week looks up.  Just remember it RAINED yesterday!  Sweet, glorious, wet, rain.  Totally made my day.

This entire time I thought you've been referring to the book for November!  I even have excerpts from the book pulled up on my screen to figure out what the TMI is all about.

  • Michelle - Titan was so much fun!!  He didn't want to sit in the floor with me much, but tried to sit on Lacey's lap.  When I say sit, I mean sit like a human almost.  :)

I picked up his ball and he bounded at me.  It was hilarious.  After that, I couldn't get him to play.  He was probably thinking "stupid human doesn't even know how to throw a ball".  Haha.
