Quiet here today...weekend craft projects?

It's so quiet on this board today! Maybe everyone has the day off and is outside enjoying the nice weather we're having (at least in the northeast). Sadly I have to work.

What did you work on this weekend?

I worked on altering a dress shirt that I had bought myself that needed darts on the back to make it fit better.  I have a few more like that and several pairs of pants to hem for DH (he needs shorter than a 30 inseam and that's tough to find in the store), but I only did that one thing - oops!

Re: Quiet here today...weekend craft projects?

  • I was busy :)

First, NCR, DH and I saw Wicked at the Fox (LOVED it and I highly recommend a date night with your hubby for it!!!)

    CR:

~finally made coordinating pants for LA's honeycomb top.  BARELY had enough fabric, but darn it, I was NOT buying more.

~I did some alterations for my friend who I trade services with (I do some mending for her since she hates doing it and, in return, she embroiders/appliques anything I want--I am getting the better deal out of this!).  So, I put in new elastic in her 5yo's pants so she could wear them this season and I altered her Daisy pinafore so it wouldn't fall off her shoulders (that thing was a PITA!)

~Purchased ribbon to make a candy corn top for LA (yep, I'm cheesy like that)

Today, I hope to run by Joann's after work to pick up some felt to finally finish LA's Halloween costume.  Later this week, I hope to make her the candy corn top and a pair of jeans.

Then again, I might just sit on the couch :)

  • I didn't do a damn thing CR this weekend. I went to visit my parents and DD is going through some insane clingy phase, so I guess all I did was a little shopping (plus some scouting for stuff for the new house).

However, today I am making applesauce with some apples I picked up from a friend yesterday. She gave me 81 lbs of Golden Delicious and some tart variety, so I'm doing applesauce with the Golden Delicious and then pie filling with the rest. Eek!

  • I got halfway through organizing all my craft stuff. Right about in time for H to decide he wants another baby so I then started purging crap left-and-right. This decision comes 2 weeks after I got rid of the last 3 baby items we had from DS. Great timing, H!

  • I made 6 Trick-or-Treat bags. I will be an AW and PIP in a bit. :)

  • I finished this:

    http://community.thenest.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/58913126.aspx

And I ordered more fabric for the backing of the metro quilt, because if I want it to self bind, I'm going go need 2 more yards (fudgecicles).

I also pinned a ton of easy/ short quilty projects so I can start on the holiday gifting and get some batting scrapes taken care of.

  • I made

     http://poshpoochdesignsdogclothes.blogspot.com/2010/11/12-collars-of-christmas-8-button-dog.html

I don't have a button, but will get after we move.  It ended up being too small for my dog, so I will give to my mom.

I used one color, but I think my next will be outlined in white

I saw your post below but work blocks certain PIP photo host sites...I want to look and see when I get home - I bet it's beautiful judging from the feedback  you are getting!

  • I worked on the hoodie I'm making for my nephew.  It's coming out great so far and I love it!  I've done up to the sleaves (it's bottom-up) and am working on the first sleeve now.

Hopefully I can finish in the next week or two (so many other projects for Christmas!!)

  • I've been working on knitting another sheldon turtle for one of DD's friends.  She saw DD's and begged her mom to have one.  I only have the shell left (wahoo!) and then all the finishing - which is my least favorite part boo!

  • I didn't do much. I finally went through my paper and pulled out ones I will use on LO scrapbook. Today we went to hobby lobby to get a album and more paper. I am hoping this week to work on a tutu and do a photo session with LO.

  • I was on a scrapbook retreat all weekend.  It was awesome.  I finished 40 pages in my DD2's baby book.  I have some really cool pages but I haven't taken pictures of them yet.  I also played around with my cricut for the first time.  I am in LOVE.

  • We just got back from an anniversary trip to Quebec--I'm uploading pictures as I type this.  Perfect weekend to be there :)

I didn't get much knitting done while we were in the city, but the 5-hour long car ride meant that I got to start DH's Christmas sweater and am about 6" into it!

Go if you get the chance!!!  Wicked is AMAZING!!

I finished a quilt top!  I did this "recipe" from Moda Bake Shop in Kate Spain's Flurry.  http://www.modabakeshop.com/2011/02/summer-dreamin.html    Instead of twin size, I did a double batch for king size.  Next up is the back... should be a breeze after all of those half-square triangles.

  • I worked on DS's Halloween costume for a few hours. NCR, we went to another 1y/o's birthday party, had friends over for football watching, and spent a lot of time on baby duty because DH worked, so there wasn't too much time spent on crafts.

Ha!  No.  DH is utterly impossible to shop for.  So much so that his mother is already harassing me for ideas for HER to get him for Christmas.  It will take me that long to come up with something.  So I was thrilled when he told me he wanted a dark red sweater.

He is very, very picky about his clothing, so I let him pick the design and the yarn and the yarn color and will be checking with him throughout the process.  I would much rather give him something he likes and wears than have it be a surprise.

  • I'm new here (hi!) so that's my excuse.

I'm working on knitting a hat for my friend's baby and am hoping to get started on some Christmas gifts this weekend. Not sure what I'm doing this year as I'm afraid everyone is sick of getting jewelry & knitted stuff, so I've been pinning stuff on pinterest to hopefully get some new ideas.
