Any strong opinions either way?? We currently have Dish, but are thinking of switching to Direct TV for the record in one room, watch in any room feature.

"People talk about escapism as if it's a bad thing... Once you've escaped, once you come back, the world is not the same as when you left it. You come back to it with skills, weapons, knowledge you didn't have before. Then you are better equipped to deal with your current reality."

This. We had a several bad experiences with cable and then Directv rep just happened to be at SamsClub right time, right place. We signed up that day for 1 HD DVR, 1 HD and 1 standard. They installed and I called about a month later to see about upgrading our 2nd HD to HD DVR they did at no charge and bonus, the install guy came out with 2 HD DVRs and said that's what his ticket said to install. Ok, now we have 3 HD DVRs and only added $6/mo extra since we kepth the 4th box. Love Directv! We just finished our 1st year of awesome savings $55/mo for Choice Ultimate + whole home + 3 HD DVRs + 1 standard and now our bill's about 2x that, but still better than what our cable bill was since they charged per HD DVR around $12/mo and didn't offer whole home (record in one room, watch in another).
