I just found out I have PCOS and I was wondering if anyone else on here has it. If so did you find a good doctor that knew a lot about it. I want to find a good reliable doctor that can help us. I really appreciate it.
Re: OBGYN Referral
You are in hartford, right?
My OB is a regular OB, but she has special interests in infertility issues. I'm not sure if she's taking regular patients, but you can try her. I LOVE her. She really listens to me.
Dr Angela Breckenridge with the West Bend Clinic.

Yeah we're in Hartford I just need a doctor that is willing to help and give me advise. Is it a Pro Health care or is it called West Bend Clinic?
Its West Bend Clinic. Its attached to the hospital, right off of Hwy 45. The other doctor's there are all equally nice.
Do you not have an OB? How did you get the PCOS diagnosis?
I have PCOS so if you ever need support or anything, let me know.

I do have an Ob but everything I read says to find one that you think is supportive and will help you along your journey.
I'm just trying to find one that knows a lot about the diagnosis.
I went in bc i hadn't gotten AF in about 5 months she put my on prgestrone to start it back up and it worked but now I haven't gotten is since Aug again. So I start that med again on Nov 5th. Meanwhile she had me do all the blood test and the Ultra sound is scheduled for next tuesday. My doctor doesn't think that I have the csyst which is a good thing. But everything else points to it so far. The excess hair, my weight and the fact it's hard for me to lose weight. I also have a skin tag which I never really thought would be linked to something like this.
So I can't get in with her till Nov 3 and mean while I'm trying to take deep breaths and find out as much as I can. I'm also trying to find a good doctor that knows a lot about it. I'm trying not to stress out about it but it's really hard and My H doesn't understand so it's hard not having the support here. Because my family lives out of town. I talked to them and a friend about it but it's still really hard to deal with. I would appreciate any information you have.
When did you find out about having PCOS and what did it take for you to get and stay PG.
Thank you so much for the help I need some stories to get me through this.
This is a great website if you haven't been there already

I was diagnosed after 6 months of TTC. My periods stopped altogether, so I went in to the doctor. It was hard to hear that there was something "wrong" with me, but also a relief to know that I had a diagnosis. I was diagnosed by a different doctor, but my current OB has been super supportive and she's very knowledgable. She's very in tune with what I want and what I feel and is on board with whatever course of action I need to take.
For me, all it took was a round of clomid for me to get pregnant. They monitored my closely in my first trimester, but I had no problems keeping my pregnancy. I also took metformin before I got pregnant, and while I was pregnant, so I think that helped. Its important to remember that PCOS isn't a death sentence for your fertility. There are a lot of scary stats out there, but you might not have any problems once you can get on metformin. It can really help regulate your cycles. If that doesn't work, clomid works wonders. Staying positive really helps, IMO.
We are TTC #2 right now. I'm charting my cycles and using OPK's (I can recommend a cheap place to get them, if/when you need them). I'd like to see if my body can do it on its own this time. My doctor seems to think its morelikely, since I've been pregnant once before. I'll try clomid again if I'm not pregnant within 4 or 5 months of trying.
Its great to be informed, but don't get freaked by all the stats. Try to stay positive that you can get your body on track. If you are TTC right now, there is a PCOS group on the trouble TTC board that does check-ins and whatnot. Feel free to page me anytime to talk!
