How was the cake?

So to those who have already had their first anniversary, how was the top of the wedding cake?

We had ours yesterday and it was great. Except the frosting is too sweet but that is not the freezers fault. It tasted very fresh. It was in a box that I wrapped in saran wrap and then 2 ziplock bags. It was initially frozen at the restaurant where we were married. Maybe industrial freezer helped preserve it.

Ours was really good.  It got a little dense, almost like pound cake, but tasted yummy still.  We only ate 1/4 of it, so I'll be enjoying it all week.  Here are a couple pictures I took of it.

I was thinking the same thing!  Love the display!  :-)

We didn't have a cake.  Neither Felix nor I cared whether we had cake, so we opted for a variety of pies (so no top tier for us on the 23rd).  :-)

We had no cake left over to save. The reception hall gave us the small amount that we did have left. And DH and I just ended up letting everyone pig out on it the next day with our families.

That was some goooood cake though.

Xan921 - love the setup. I took some pictures of the wine, cake and goblets but no fancy setting. Forgot to put the roses in the background that he had given me for anniv a few days early.

Thanks ladies!  It was a last minute idea but I thought it turned out cute.  I found a box in our closet labeled 'wedding stuff' which contained our glasses, cake set, leftover napkins from the wedding and the 'we do' letters I made, so it made throwing it all together into a little setting easy

If we were staying home, I would probably do a cute set up like that...but we are going away and the cake itself is taking enough room in our tiny car

That was part of the reason I posted this. Those that have had their anniv could comment and those still approaching it could be reminded to take it out.

We had ours Saturday night at the hotel.  It was pretty good.  Like Xan said, kinda dense like pound cake.  :-)

We didn't eat ours yet!!

 We went camping this weekend and I forgot to put it in the fridge..so I did yesterday(anniversary) around noon.  We probably could have had some last night, but we were so full we decided to wait until tonight.
