Has anyone ever gone?
Me & DH have been every year since we moved to MA and it's one of my favorite things to do this time of year. The actual festival is OK, but taking the ski lift up Wachusett Mountain, then coming back down and seeing the fall colors throughout the area is the best!! It runs for 2 weekends in a row, starting this weekend, each one having a theme. We are going this Saturday, and I hope the weather is perfect! The next weekend will actually be better with the BBQ Fest, but we will be in NH then. I would definately recommend checking it out
Re: Wachusett AppleFest
During football season, I'm single on Sundays
ME TOO!! I thought I was the only person in New England who didn't watch football.
I'll watch our team play every once in awhile....we're Eagles fans since DH is from PA. But he likes to watch EVERY game all day Sunday, and now that we have the Sunday Ticket, I have no chance of getting him out of the house. Saturdays were an issue for Penn State games, but he realized I was getting antsy, so now he DVR's the game and watches it when we get home
The Eagles are playing a Thurs. night game for our 1 year anniversary, and we're still discussing that one
this sounds great! growing up here i never been up there nor heard of this. we always go up to apple crest for our apple picking and what not. this sounds great maybe SO and I can venture up there on a date without LO and check out the fall colors
oh and i am ALSO not a football fan so you are all not alone
I used to date a guy who was obsessed with football and it kind of made me hate it. Then the Eagles got Michael Vick and I hated them. The other PA team, the Steelers, has a rapist for a qb, so it is tough to get behind teams with sh!tty leaders. Maybe the Patriots will drag me in.
Good luck figuring out your anniversary...
My FI sounds like your H. He watches every game regardless if the Pats are on or not. However he hates watching alone so he usually goes to a friends house, or occasionally I get roped into hosting people at our place. I enjoy the time to do whatever I want, but then there are other times when I wish he and I could spend time together.
Ha! My husband and his dad are both huge sports fans. When we called his parents the night we got engaged, his mom congratulated us and his dad said, "whatever you do, don't schedule the wedding during a Pats game!" (And yes, I'm a Sunday Widow myself. At least he's stopped watching all 162 baseball games each year.)
That festival sounds really fun. We have to head to western MA on Sunday; maybe we'll leave early and take a detour. Thanks for the heads up!
Yeah, when I first told DH about the game being the night of our anniversary. His reply "I told you that we shouldn't have gotten married during football season"....Men!!
I live pretty close to the Mount as well, and we don't take advantage of it as much as we should.
