~6, I'll take that apple cake recipe
I always use store-bought crust, so that's never a problem for me. But hey, ya don't turn down a good recipe
Re: ~6, I'll take that apple cake recipe
This is sooooo good.
1.5 cups salad oil (you can sub up to 50% applesauce for this, but it is better all oil)
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
3 cups flour
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp vanilla
3 cups chopped apples
1/2 cup broken pecans (optional, I never bother)
Combine everything but the apples. When well mixed fold in the apples. Bake in a greased and floured 9x13 at 350 for ~1 hr.
I usually make a little powdered sugar glaze.
Ummm, what the heck is "salad oil?"
Any chance you know about how many apples that is? And does variety matter?

Ha! I guess that dates this recipe, I know my mom was making this in the '70s. In 2011 it would be vegetable oil. I used gala last time, but any kind will work. The gala are a little smaller so I think I used 6 or 7.
