Question for Hiring Execs

Greetings!

I don't have a bachelor's however I have over 25 years sales experience with awards. Medical and Business to Business.

What does it mean when an ad says Bachelor's degree or equivalent?

What constitutes equilavent?

Thanks for your help.

Re: Question for Hiring Execs

  • I'm not a hiring exec, but from my experience the job posting may tell you what the equivalent of a bachelors degree is.  It usually varies depending on the company.  Some people want you to have a bachelors degree or X amount of years in experience.  I'm guess with 25 years of experience you don't need to worry about a bachelors degree.

Thank you, most of them do not state their equivalent. I don't want to assume it means experience.

  • I am currently looking for a Marketing person to sell advertising, and if you had 25 years experience vs someone who was right out of college with a degree, I would more than likely hire you with the experience, because a degree is great, but hands on is way better.
