DH thinks it is silly for me and older DD's to dress up for Halloween.

We won't be TOT'ing.  We'll be working booths at our church festival that night.  I'm rather excited about it myself. :)

Oldest DD wants to be Pajama Girl.  Some made up superhero from a disney show.  iCarly, I think.

Middle DD, a cat burglar.  Dressed all in black carrying a bag of stolen stuffed cats.

I need to think of something simple and witty for myself.

  • it is NOT silly.  I love dressing up for Halloween.  DD is going as Alice from Alice in Wonderland and her BFF is going as the red queen.  I told her they need to get one of their other friends to go as the Mad Hatter.  I am in charge of candy this year while the girls go ToTing but probably won't dress up.

  • It is silly....but that's the point :)

Halloween is my favorite holiday because it's about nothing other than having FUN!

Your DD's cat burglar costume sounds awesome! lol

Not sure what we'll dress up as this year to pass out candy. We just went to a costume wedding reception and DH wore a smoking jacket/silk pajams/top hat/fake mustache/bubble pipe ...and I went as "DH on a Saturday" - his pj pants/"Can't Talk Games On" tshirt/ drink helmet with Dr Pepper cans in it/ his A&M slippers/ and the tv remote attached to my wrist.

  • Not silly at all.

We don't have kids yet and live in an apartment so we will probably just chill at home but on Sunday my mom and I are throwing our newest addition to our family (5 yr old cousin by marriage) a surprise Halloween birthday party. Her actual birthday is on Halloween and she lives in Lufkin with my uncle and her mom.

I'm super excited to dress up and have fun like a kid again. DH found a Charlie Sheen mask and I just bought him a bowling shirt like 2 weeks ago so he is going to dress up like Charlie from Two & a Half Men. I bought a pirate costume but now I'm thinking I may go as Rose fomr T&HM. lol...

  • How fun!  When I was in HS and "too old" to trick or treat I would take my sister and her friends around as their chaperone.  One year I dressed in all black and put a black trash bag on and carried a spray bottle of water.  When anyone asked what I was I would spray them and say I'm a rain cloud. :)  That might be fun for a church booth.

  • I dont think its silly at all, especially since you are going to be going to a halloween event.  you'd look like fuddy duddy sticks in the mud if you werent dressed up :)
Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker Pregnancy Ticker
  • I think I may go for "bubblegum stuck to a shoe".  Dress all in pink and tie a tennis shoe to my head.  The kids will get a kick out of it.

  • I also don't think it's silly.  You'll be at a Halloween Event and it's fun!

A friend of mine did something similar and won a costume contest with it.  She dressed in all light blue (sweats), glued blobs of white batting to her to look like clouds and carried a squirt gun.  She was "partly cloudy with a chance of rain".

  • it is not silly. i'm dressing up as a drunk ninja - just to drink wine and hand out candy.
  • Not silly at all.

My DH is a boring ole bump on a log too.  Maddie is going to be Dorothy and I'm going to be the Wicked Witch of the West.  My mom is going to be here and she may dress as Glinda the good witch.  Just to take M trick or treating (unless we get lucky and get invited to a party).  DH is not interested in dressing up and said he'll just hand out candy.  Boring ole boringbore.
