Holiday Party/Ornament Exchange Info and RSVP
To clear up some confusion, here's the holiday plan:
Holiday Party at Painting With a Twist in Grapevine @ 11am on 12/3. We will be doing an in-person exchange.
If you are unable to attend the party, you will be able to participate in a mailed ornament exchange.
I will be handling the party details, Tiffany the in-person exchange and Julie the mail exchange.
Tiffany and Julie - please chime in here and let everyone know what info they need to get you and when. I will be posting the vote on the painting choice and providing details on cost in early November.
Please post here and let us know if you will be attending the party/in-person exchange or if you will be unable to attend but want to do a mail exchange. If you don't want to do anything, that's okay too.

We've got a wedding that day, so I won't be able to participate in the party... boo hoo.
I'd like to be part of the mail exchange, though!

I plan to be at the party.
Just throwing this out there, but a fun thing to do in person is a game where everyone brings their ornament wrapped and we draw numbers and the first person picks an ornament and the next person can either steal that ornament or pick another, etc. until everyone is done. The way I've always played it is the ornament can only be stolen twice and then it is claimed for good. It's pretty fun.

Yes I was thinking about this too! Especially since some may confirm and but for one reason or another may not end up making it. I will take a vote in November once we have confirmed all of the attendees.
I also plan on being at zee partee! I also like the idea of doing the in-person ornament exchange white elephant-style.
Leslie, I can't remember if we've talked about food, but PWAT allows bringing in food/drink, right?

I've been totally MIA, school has been KRAZY, but I'm planning on coming to the party!
And, I don't know if this has been discussed, but if we only have a set amount of time at PWAT and want to gather elsewhere for the exchange/ party after the painting we can go to my house, it's super close to PWAT.
Ashlee - We are having a Nestie holiday G2G/Party at Painting with a Twist in Grapevine if you want to come! Cost is $30 and you get to paint and keep your own original painting. We will also have pot luck food and drinks at the party and an ornament exchange.
The Nest ornament exchange is just an ornament exchange by mail. Nesties can sign up and will be assigned a "Secret Nestie" to send an ornament to. No party.
I am not 100% on what part you need info on, so:
Last year a bunch of girls on the Knot did a christmas tree ornament exchange via mail. The consensus was that it should be annual so we are doing it again this year - some people via mail, some in person.
The book club girls decided to do a party in December instead of a book so that we wouldn't have the added stress of trying to read a book while dealing with holiday stuff and we could do a DFW Nest-wide GTG rather than just book club, thus the deal at Painting With a Twist.

growing up i was always thrown into meeting new people - but i guess now that i've finally stayed in one place for at least 4 years i've steered away from it just because i had the option to.

I'm tentative... I'm pretty sure I'll come, but I just need to talk to my mom & make sure that she will be okay without me until later in the day. I'll decide for sure by the time we do the official RSVP stuff, so I'll let ya know then. I'm SO excited about the ornament exchange... I've already been buying new ornaments because I love Christmas that much

Spoke with DH about it last night, so I think i'm coming to the party/in-person exchange. I don't have anything on my calendar as of yet for december.
I know this may have been discussed pre me joining TN. But is there a $ limit or minimum on the ornament? And can we put more than one in the box that we wrap and it count as "one"? Just thought I'd ask
In the past, it has been $10 so we should probably stick with that. You can do one ornament or multiples, whatever you like.
