This board has been so slow!

Let's get this party started...what has everyone been up to lately? :)

Re: This board has been so slow!

  • I agree!  I hopped on to ask about holiday plans...which I'll go do now.  lol

Nothing new in Sheltonville.  Trying to start a bakery - if anyone would like to be my first customer, get at me!  Wink

  • Things have been tumbleweeds around here.....not that I posted a ton. @tayrusso how exciting! Did you rent out a space or working out of your home? Nothing too new out here, I spend most my days chasing my youngun around. We just got back from a birday party at the Phx Childrens Museum. We had a blast and I can't wait to go back (that was our first trip there).

  • I'll be your first customer Taylor! What are your specialties? :)

And I agree that the Children's Museum is awesome!  If any of you with kiddos haven't been yet, go! We are planning on getting N a membership for his birthday.

Nothing too exciting going on around here. Baby girl just turned 2 months and is doing well. N will be 2 next month so I'm in party planning mode. Planning on running a 5k next month providing my kids let me get some training in ;)

  • I feel like life has been on hyper speed since Zach was born.  So I haven't had time to get on here as much lately.  Nothing really new with us, I am just loving being on maternity leave but wish these days would slow down!

  • I feel like I have no time what-so-ever for anything anymore which is why I stopped blogging. I don't have the time or energy for it...

Not a whole lot going on here....I never see my husband because he works evenings so he can watch Preston and I work days so he hands me baby and then leaves for work.

We are planning our first BIG road trip for Thanksgiving up to Nor Cal and I'm a bit worried. I hope he does well...it's an 11 hour drive without a baby so I'm sure it'll take us quite a bit of time with him.

Aww thanks, Kristen!  You're the sweetest!!!  I'm hoping to specialize in royal icing sugar cookies; they make great favors for showers/weddings/parties.  But any baked goods really - cookies, cake pops/truffles, chocolate covered pretzels, butter cream cakes, bars, brownies, breads - you name it.  Big Smile

And holy geez, I cannot believe you're running a 5k after only 2 mo PP!!!

  • Not a lot going on here at Chez Vivace. My husband has been working a ton. I'm excited to be going to Out of Africa this weekend.

@Tay... I would totally order stuff from you for Christmas if you didnt live 20 hours away from me haha... I need to get some yummy treats for all the company I have coming and I really don't have the desire to cook it myself haha..

  • Not much going on here, if you keep up with my blog you can see what I've been doing. Other than that, same ol' stuff, different day.

Taylor, I will order something. I work near you, so you're not that far. Cant wait to see what you make/bake.

  • I've been working a whole bunch and preparing for our upcoming honeymoon. This weekend we'll be taking a afternoon cruise at Saguaro lake. Might stop by Tour de Fat on Saturday at Tempe Beach Park. Plan on having dinner with some friends on Sunday.

We've driven to SoCal with E twice. One trip we left at like 9 am... It went okay but she got super fussy at the end. The second time we left at 4am- woke her up to change her/feed her, and she slept for all but maybe 30 min of the drive. My advice to you- if it's possible- drive overnight while he's sleeping. It made a huge difference for us!
  • I am new to the board and to Phoenix. One of the reasons I don't post much is because it seems more of a parenting board and so far I am involuntarily childless. We are moving into a wonderful 3,500 sq ft house with a pool in a great area for the same price as a2 br, 2 bath condo in Chicago. I just started BCPs in preparation for my first IVF cycle next month.

Welcome! What part of the valley are you buying in?

I'm so sorry you are going through IF. There are a few of us on this board (myself included) that have been through the he*l that it is.  What clinic are you going to?

I wish you the best of luck with your upcoming IVF!

  • Hi ladies!  I've been super busy w/work as I took a new position sort of, so I work 4 12hr days one wk, then 3 12hr days the next & so on, so I'll have 3 months off over the summer.  I also started online classes full time in June & they've kept me really busy.  I feel like my life is work/school/sleep, repeat, repeat!

Yes I am a nurse.  And yes, there is a ton on my plate!  But at least I'm not bored, haha.

  • I'm late to the party but I spent all last week in a crappy motel so I could actually spend some time with my husband.  He's been down at Ft. Huachuca for some training classes and it was only supposed to be 3 weeks but at the end of the third week they told him he had another week!  So we packed up the dogs and the baby and drove down to Sierra Vista.   We got to drive around and see Bisbee and Tombstone which was awesome.   I feel like he's been gone more than home recently and I'm in desperate need of some adult interaction!

I could totally go for some baked goods Taylor!  Smile

I, myself, have been very busy which has left little time to blog, etc. I check this board every so often and it is a ghost town!!

Yeah, we are planning to start in the evening, maybe around 6pm. Since he goes to bed around 6:30, it should be perfect for him to sleep the whole time. Or I am hoping at least. lol

  • Thanks for the encouragement ladies. I am doing IVF at Arizona Fertility's Tempe office. I chose that center for it's very impressive SART stats and because of it's proximity to my work. Just wondering why people don't post parenting issues on the Bump's Phoenix board?

Well the PHX bump board is even slower then this one.  And I can only speak for myself but I have been posting on here for a while and know a good majority of the ladies so I just continue to post here even if it is parenting realted or not. :)

I?ve been wondering the same thing. But most of the ladies here have been posting for while now, including myself and then they all popped out kids around the same time, so they feel like they don?t need to move to the Phoenix Bump board. Sometimes I don?t mind it but sometimes, that?s all they talk about too.  But if they did post over on the Bump board with their parenting issues, I don?t think it would be slow but oh well. Can?t help what that they post here, it?s a public board.

Yeah...if everyone with kids moved to the bump board it would almost be this board but on the bump.  Then it would just be slow here rather than there.  Six of one, half dozen of the other...
